TVD is the problem

Some of you ***kers are incredible.

TVD finished last season passing for over 300 yards and 3+ TD’s in 6 straight games, but now “he’s the problem”? You have got to be ****** kidding.

Mario and Gattis show up and suddenly TVD looks like ****, and receivers like George and Brinson (which showed great potential last season) are both struggling, as well as the rest of our WR room.

So what is the common denominator here? Use your brain before posting such bullshyt. This happens with every new coaching staff. A portion of our fan base finds no fault in them until it’s too late.

Mario and Gattis must make adjustments and sculpt the offense to our player’s strengths. Failure to do this will result in more putrid play from our passing game.

TVD didn’t just all of a sudden forget to play the QB position at a high level. Our coaches are getting paid a king’s ransom to run a scheme that maximizes our player’s best skills, not to try to make them do what they’re not good or proficient at.
Yeah they need to dumb down the offense like lashlee did to get the best out of him. NFL teams will have to dumb down the offense if they're considering drafting him. He shouldn't be forced to read coverages and lead safeties away from his targets. He even looks like, coach please take me out if I can't hit the first read, I got my nil money already so let Jake have this

Your primary receiver is out, 6 dropped passes…yeah it’s TVD. How many INT did he have? Is he not looking off targets, yes. Is he a bit glassy eyed, yes. Easy for us to sit on our couch and call him out. He handed the ball off well and executed the flea flicker well. You try standing at the 10 yard line in that mad house. Most of you would **** your pants and call mama. He ain’t Jesus but he sure ain’t Judas.
He sure isn't a NFL QB either and definitely not 1st Rd if you have to read defenses and look off coverages

He has looked really uncomfortable the last 2 games.

Yes he might be feeling uncomfortable with the new offense and doesn't trust his receivers, but there's also something off with his accuracy. Last year and through camp it looked like he was spinning it really well and dropping dimes. Now he can barely hit open receivers and can't throw a spiral.

Anybody have any idea what is going in with his actual throwing?

The entire offseason is about observing what works and what doesn't and scheming and practicing to maximize what you have. It seems Steele has done a masterful job of it. On offense, just the opposite. It's glaringly obvious if you have a QB perform like TVD did last year and suddenly he's looking awful, that the problem may not be with him.
Is it possible that Lashlee’s offense was so basic it put up points against average teams and struggled mightily when they played a good defense? One dimensional as ****, no running game?

Im not fully defending gattis but there were plenty of plays schemed wide open, we had multiple drops and TVD missed dudes; he missed George for a TD in the 1H.

People apologizing for TVD man…how can you not watch last night and come away thinking he wasn’t at least part of the issue?

How much more can you Dumb down a Dumb Offense??....Now we have Levels of Dumbness??

Because he wasn't the issue last year. It's that simple. Surely through all that off-season practice it would be apparent that something was not as it was. And we had 2 games before Texas A&M where we did NOT face great defenses and where it was obvious that we were not working on perfecting a fast aggressive style of offense.

I won't accept the idea that better OL blocking requires abandoning what works. Adding a more successful run dimension should make it easier to do everything else, not more difficult. That's on the OC and the scheme. I DO think our line is better and I applaud the coaches for that - but we should not accept that as an either/or dilemma. At no point can I look back in years at a Gattis offense and think to myself, "wow, that's exactly what I'd like to see for years at Miami once we get more talent."

Of course all of that is about offense only. I'm thrilled with the defense.

I don't know if he was the problem but when they are dropping 8 you tuck the ball and run. There were running lanes to make them pay if he had any mobility.

The current reality is it’s a bro-style offense that a bunch of average and a bunch of 2nd year WRs that came in knowing nothing about rhythm and timing up routes and QB drops.. can’t run anything but a screen and a 9 are trying to get it done.

X has his routes and timing perfected. Tyler hits his drop step and ball is supposed to be coming out and receivers are either ahead of the rhythm or behind. Not running the right depth. No consistency and no separation. A bro-style offense has to have rhythm and we can’t figure it out.

From Lashlee to this is high school to NFL in terms of concepts and difficulty. We are Michigan in 2019. This is exactly what they looked like. There’s a reason they were very good in year 3.. it takes that long to iron it out and perfect it.
Why can't Gattis implement some RPO or other elements of Lashlee's offense since it's extremely simple and everyone already knows it? I'm not saying completely move to that offense but use that as a crutch from time to time as you implement more Bor style? Is that a reasonable expectation from fans?

Basically, why sacrifice wins in games like this when you could switch it up and more than likely get a spark, win the game and then keep working on the more complex offense on future games which are in hand.

What I saw from TVD tonight was a lack of moxey. I didnt see a will to win from him in critical situations. Running out of bounds when he scrambled on 3rd down. Diving for the ground whenever a defender gets within social distance. The guy is 6'-4" - 230 lbs and seems afraid to absorb any contact.

Again, just no gusto. To me, he looked like a rich kid from Connecticut with a big arm.
I said this earlier. It was a 3rd down play where instead of going and making A&M and his teammates know we going to war he ran out of bounds. I was like maaaan he ain’t out there to handle business forreal because in a game of this magnitude every possession counts.

Ponce? Just a guess.
