I put very little stock into who the players of the past 7+ plus years consider a leader/respect.

We’ve seen comments about players laughing at dudes who put in extra work after practice. Believe it was Ray Ray working extra.

We’ve consistently heard from Mario that TVD is very competitive and even puts his foot down to beat dudes in sprints.

Then rumblings that TVD and 7 alienated guys last year.

Outside looking in. I’m guessing TVD and 7 had it with dudes who weren’t giving it their all and cut bait.

Dudes don’t like it when they’re held accountable and getting out worked.

I’m chalking it up to the players not knowing what an actual leader on a winning team looks like.
 
Love all the positivity surrounding our Canes heading into year two.

Holy ****, if it isn't one thing, it's another. Thought things would be getting better for us, but I have my doubts that they are.

Apathy set in for me years ago so I have no expectation other than fielding a team. Winning, anything, is a plus. Sucks but that's just reality.

It was Restrepo who was getting laughed at for working extra but otherwise, I agree 100%

I'm always suspicious of the motives of some of the "rumor mill" types.

a fluff piece that literally says TVD wants miami to be great turns into a few posters going hes not a leader blah blah blah. i dont give a flying **** if he ignores the world from Sunday to Friday as long as hes tossing TDs and winning games on Saturday. you dont need to be best friends, you need to get the job done.

That’s why I don’t pay attention to these things too much, either positive or negative. That’s what they are, fluff.

this i agree w. ive become a pessimistic fans w canes football now. too many years of saying next year next year. this time its more realistic and not just overtly negative given the roster issues heading into the year (you gotta be pretty delusional to think well be okay w our holes currently at WR, DT, DB) and that is fine. mario has time to get it right. W/L wont matter much this year as much as improvement on the field will. you can still lose 7 games but lose them in a competitive fashion (think FSU before last year). we werent competitive last year and poorly coached.

Yeah it is tiresome when people are overly negative. But i take everything with a grain of salt. Kevin Smith and D$ and others told us how well the DBs were covering in the offseason only for them to get abused by Duke and MTSU. I appreciate the reports but i dont care about any of it negative or positive ill just watch.

Last season traumatize me watching from the stands. Riding back up the turnpike was not fun. I dont expect anything better than 8-4 if i feel good about the season. 7-5 i expect just with better OL personnel. Until the players and coaches show that they can elevate the players on the roster thats where am at. Show me

well judging by the **** we ran on O, its not a shock the DBs covered so well lol. one DB ends up covering like 3 WRs since they all ran into the same space half the time
