Official TVD comments on Hard Rock

Bro it is literally exactly what he said. You can say two things at once:

1. I like to play on the read more to silence the crowd
2. Because we don't really have a crowd and exciting game day atmosphere unless its a big game since our stadium is 25 minutes away from campus

He said both those things. I don't think we need to blow it out of proportion it was a dumb thing to say even if its true lol

But the people pretending like he didn't say it I don't understand how you refuse to acknowledge his actual words lol
why is it dumb? hes right. we dont have a. college atmosphere and we never will. if you want that, be a UF fan. idk what else to tell you guys hoping miami is something when it never was and never will be.

I guess you've never attended UM. if you did, you'd know ti doesn't matter where the stadium is. students dont go to UM for football period. they go for the city, nightlife, etc. also, hes right. miami isnt a college town and well never have a college atmosphere. stop getting salty for something well never be. if you want that, support a podunk team in a college town. UM is treated like a pro team.
I went to Miami and went to football games with a ton of my friends every year.

You're making blanket generalizations about the student body. No, we aren't an SEC school and there are other options and events to go to that aren't available in those schools, but we also just don't have enough students to fill up that stadium. If the stadium was on campus we'd have some more students attend, but we just don't have enough students to fill the stadium whether its in Coral Gables or Miami Gardens

I went to miami and im from miami lol.

I grew up going as a fan and as a student and now have sth as an alum.

dude, you had to convince kids to wake up for a noon game or 330 against no one. most times, they come to tailgate and bounce before kick to keep the party going. its not a blanket generalization when it is literally that when I was there (06-10). its even worse now as the student body has changed even more and less interested in sports

it was a pain in the *** to get kids involved w the activities on campus and that was a walk to the BUC or to the baseball stadium

You're changing the goal post, first you said he didnt say it and its taken out of context and now you're saying he said it but it wasn't stupid.

In any case, it was a dumb thing to say because it can be used to negatively recruit against your program.

He could've said I prefer road games because I love to shut the crowd up without saying that his school doesnt have a good environment

Not the end of the world, he's a kid whatever. But it was a dumb comment lol

Sometimes I think it would have a better chance filling up in Broward. Fwiw We lose the palm bleachers and some of both moth Broward and south Miami. Lose lose

You graduated a few years before me. We had different experiences. Yes, some kids don't attend games (spoiler alert some kids don't attend games at other schools too they just have more kids and less to do)

Yes we have more options, but UM has students that like to go to games to you take things so far to the extreme lol

But but Miami Dade has 500k people now compared to several years ago and will go to games closer to them

This is thinking of some on Twitterverse

I didnt say no students go to games. I said they dont go to UM for the sports which isnt false in my experience however anecdotal. some do attend, but more often than not, its like the rest of the fanbase. when its an event, teylll show if not no shot. anyways this is dumb to continue.

He wants to play in the NFL one day, learning not to say things to indvertently insult your fan base is something he'll want to learn lol

As Michael Jordan famously said, "Republicans buy shoes too."

I'm not giving him a difficult time or it or holding it against him as a person I'm just acknowledging it was a dumb comment.

ok fair enough. also Jordan sucks as a person w his **** but he even realized you can't be a noob w the public anymore. everyone expects a quote. also, fans love the colorful quotes fro their stars now. even Brady says **** now lol and is way more fun now that hes out of NE bc you see his personality more.

1. Miami is likely the most transient and international city in the U.S. UM is representative of that diversity.
2. Football is still culturally a U.S. American sport watched and appreciated by said U.S.Americans.

When you understand the disconnect between 1 and 2 then we can begin to understand why Miami struggles to fill stadiums for Football.

I missed it, but whatvwas announced crowd for So Miss?

Seemed a decent tuen out.

Announced was 46k, but it wasn’t a great crowd.

I’ve been to almost every big away game the past 23 years and I’d take Miami (OB or HRS) over any of them in a BIG game with a packed house.

Funny thing is TAMU wasn’t even that loud. They look good waving their white towels but they don’t know how to make noise like south Florida.

TVD playing like a loser and talking like a loser lol. Good thing for him and Miami it’s early and he’s got time to redeem himself.

Who are you and why did you kidnap AmherstCane?

I actually agree.

Much ado about nothing ...

Everything on a message board is definitionally much ado about nothing… but it’s funny to see people deny that it’s dumb for Miami’s qb to put his own fans and stadium on blast (when that is probably the single biggest negative recruiting point against Miami).
