Most of you posters as usual are missing the point. Nobody is saying Manny saved his job. But MANY of you on here bet your mortgage that NC State was going to steamroll us and had already started to draw up your lists of potential AD and HC candidates so you could talk shop on Sunday morning. Well, looks like that has to wait another week. Thats all Herbie and this list is saying. Manny and the team when NOBODY thought they would win came up and got the victory. Who cares if we got lucky?

So UVA didnt get lucky because we missed a chip shot FG by a kicker who is pretty much automatic? UNC didnt get lucky that they batted a ball down inside the red zone and intercepted it when we at least could have tied with a FG and maybe won in OT? Luck is apart of sports period and only our fanbase doesnt give the team the benefit of the doubt when luck goes our way.

And props to TVD. He is getting alot of love I see and well deserved.

Herbies a fake. He never even saw the game. Just doin his job. How would he like manny going to OSU?

^^THIS ^^

ANYONE implying that Manny is a KEEPER must really hate us.....and just wants to keep it undercover

I sincerely wish that Manny was coaching OSU, ND, FSU, PSU or ANY other team I despise

After Manuela is fired we will look back and see Herbie had a lot to do with getting the ball rolling. But he's not blinded by the hatred we have towards Manny, BJ, and anyone else responsible for this abomination. If he wants to give props for a win, that's his right, but make no mistake about it, Herbie is a friend of UM.

How do you put him in there with that timeout before halftime?

We beat a ranked team as a home dog in a game where “insiders” said there was a mutiny going on and the half the team was ready to bail and hit the portal.

Instead the team battled til the final snap til the final snap for the third straight week.

It was a good win. It’s ok to enjoy it.

Remember when he first started he was Buckeye tainted, hated the SEC. And took some shots at Miami.

But the guy loves this program and opened up Popeye's can of spinach on the Admin, embarrassing them to the nation. Now he's just throwing gas on this past weekend's James situation so he can't squirm out.

Players generally love coaches, even ones that didn't coach them. Herbie knows a new coach is needed here, but this was a brilliant move to hold the momentum and keep the attention on Miami's decision makers. Herbie is making it uniquely his story and riding shotgun on this. He should never again buy a drink if Canes fans are in the bar.

See, there’s a difference between enjoying a win and calling it a top 3 coaching performance in all of CFB. There was nothing top 3 about that timeout before halftime.

What about the 4th and one wheel for a TD, the pass to Mallory to ice it or the 4th down stop by Kichens?

Those were fantastic, aggressive, game saving moments at a crucial time . You can’t judge an overall win by a single play.

Those were great plays. I just think that timeout was atrocious. Like even I know better than to do that.

I completely understand what you are saying to enjoy a good win, but that is what is, and has been, so terrible about being a fan of Hurricanes Football. I want to enjoy the win, I really do, and I want to enjoy a possible upset of Pitt this weekend, but I am too afraid that things like this buy Manny another year which means another year of misery and being a laughing stock of P5 football.

Don’t know what to tell you. If you watch games fearful about what happens if your team wins, there’s definitely something wrong.

The entire premise of this is dumb, as it was dumb luck that saved some of these coaches—Diaz, included.

Bielema is in some weird-*** nine-overtime, two-point conversion game—where if Penn State pulls it out with one of several shots to do so, then he's not on the list?

Diaz watches NC State's top receiver not cough up a few balls (to the point people wondered if he was point shaving) or that weird fumble that helmet-less dude recovers doesn't go Miami's way—then anything Diaz did to "rally the troops" is moot, had the Canes lost?

Herby is a likable guy, but there's a lot of fluff and nonsense in the rah-rah stuff like this that he does.

Take a minute to actually use all the characters at your disposal to concoct an articulate thought about *why* you gave Diaz a nod this week—as basing it on the one-point win this week would be the same as a three-point loss last week or two-point loss against Virginia before that.

The coaching effort has more to do with the final minutes of a game and whether it's won or lost.

Bielema and Diaz aren't #1 and #2 on the list if not for some quirky break at game's end—which dismisses the rest of the game up to that point—because had either lost under the same circumstances, in the final minutes, they're "zeroes" and not "heroes" here.

Illinois was a 25 point underdog goofy
