Welcome to the All Carolina Conference. All told, the move to the ACC has been a positive for the school. Maybe there wasn't really a choice, but a Big East that still has Miami, VT, BC, Pitt, Louisville and Syracuse (and let's be real, the ACC only took the others in order to get Miami) would still be a legit P5/P6 conference capable of getting a 1 loss Miami into the playoff. At the end of the day, no one in this conference outside of the Carolina schools gets treated fairly, and the move has been a net negative for the football program. There is no disputing those two facts.
On the other hand, it's been great for basketball, really good for academics, and I would think has been a positive for all other sports aside from football. It also provides guaranteed revenue and smooths sports revenue year over year, which makes it much easier to plan administratively.
All of that said, as our football team continues to return to prominence, now is the time for our AD and President to begin demanding more fairness from the conference and start throwing our weight around a bit more. The day cannot come soon enough that Blake James starts talking publicly about things like this tier 3 revenue disparity, and I really want to hear him say to the media that the ACC better never schedule Miami again for Thursday or Friday road games, cause we won't be doing that anymore. This playing on the road on the day after Thanksgiving thing is complete bullsh!t. Even worse is sending Clem$on up to Syracuse on a Thursday night. The top teams in the conference have to say #nomore to that crap. If the league wants GT and BC playing on national TV on Thursday night, so be it. National title contenders don't need to be doing that bush league stuff.
Also, when scientific studies prove that league officiating is biased, the AD's of those programs who suffer the bias should be speaking out about it.
It's time we stopped bending over and taking this crap.
