Pretty amazing how "the chain" has taken off.

As for this other debate about masses versus the rest, I will throw this one out.

Olive Garden is by far the most popular Italian eatery in the country. That doesn't mean it isn't an absolute mockery of good Italian food.

You're comparing two different things. It's like comparing beer to soda because they both contain sugar. A hamburger to hamburger comparison is better. I know quite a few steak houses that put that over priced garbage at Ruth's Chris to shame if you want to go that route. Number one would be my house. Second to that, pretty much any mom and pop joint in the Midwest. The Golden Ox in Kansas City is one I recommend, although it's been years since I've been out that way.

But it ain't about what I like. I'm a Hardee's man when it comes to fast food hamburgers, but I'm not so **** foolish enough to not realize that MY FAVORITE is not anywhere close to the consensus pick. That doesn't make the consensus pick wrong.

You're insinuating that the masses aren't retarded, which is far from the case.

All of the best selling chains are trash.
McDonalds is not better than Wendys. (Five Guys, or Burger Fi, or wherever)
Taco Bell is not better than Moes or Chipotle.
Subway is not better than Publix or [insert mom & pop sub shop].
Pizza Hut is not better than [insert pizza joint with an Italian guys name].

Just cause these places sell the most product doesn't make them better, they're just better at catering to the masses. (which is made-up of mostly idiots)

Got nothing to do with my self worth, dumbass. It's got to do with the fact that QUALITY has gone by the wayside in today's society.

It has everything to do with your own sense of self worth. That's why you value YOUR opinion over literally millions of other people with a different opinion, and it's purely an over-elevated sense of self worth to write these opinions off as "the retarded masses" as if it's one single entity rather than millions of people exercising their personal choice that just happens to be different than yours.

McDonald's feeds 68 million people per day. A full 1/5th of this country is NOT retarded simply because they didn't eat at Wendy's. There's a lot of subjective criteria that goes into someone's decision of what is "good" or "better." Quality is only one of these. Convenience, price-point, and value, are others. Hardee's 1/2lb, bacon swiss Frisco burger is the best sammich of any of the major chains, but I don't always want to eat that much. Wendy's Baconator is good, sometimes. I rarely frequent Wendy's because they are so inconsistent. When I go to McDonald's and order my usual QP/cheese, I get the same consistent burger every time. Add to that they have the best fries, and it all becomes highly debatable.

I love a good IPA occasionally. I like a few other brown ales a little better, but I also like to branch out and try different things. Some are extremely good, and some stay in the fridge and become "Guest Beer." But just because I like a certain beer, does not mean everybody else is wrong. If IPA's were universally regarded as better, they would sell more. God knows there are enough idiots out there making them to keep up with the demand.
