Turgeon Steps Down At Maryland

Team was boo'ed after loss at home to Va Tech two days ago. He just signed a 3 yr extension (to 2026) last Spring. His buyout is $5M

Turge's Asst, Danny Manning, named Interim Coach. Team can't shoot or defend. Sound familiar?

Would be an interesting replacement for Coach L.. He has 6 20+ win seasons at Maryland and is 226-116 overall
 
Being sort of a hayseed Kansas guy, he never really seemed to fit at Maryland, even with his winning teams. Seemed to me to be a coach who'd be more comfortable at a Big 12 program.
