UM has their own Epstein problem
Romberg made the killer point about how UM is getting destroyed academically anyway, so they might as well go back to the roots and fix football.
i dotn think romberg knows how to spell so i wouldnt trust him there
He's right about UM's declining academic standing. It's a mediocre university charging $60k per year. For that sticker price, you better be firmly entrenched in the top 50. UF was always a much better value. FSU is a better value now too.
He offered some real solutions. Also, I think you meant you "couldn't care less."
What were his solutions?
its been the same education wise. the only diff is the US News Rankings which isnt the best barometer on whether a school is good academically or not. there are better metrics out there to determine that.
also, no private school will be a better value than a public school in that sense considering the cost differences esp for a florida resident where its pretty much free to go to UF w bright futures
U.S. News Rankings are the gold standard. Ask any admissions department. Schools that dispute the validity of the U.S. News rankings are declining schools.
Many private schools are a better value than public schools. For example, I'll take a Harvard or Stanford diploma and $250K in debt over a UF diploma and zero in debt.
so you took two of the most elite schools in your comparison. k.
Pete would be hanging outside da Hecht today getting scoop of who carrying boxes of their sh*t out the building after getting whacked.
I will not say anything bad about Romberg the person, but, when it comes to his opinions on the program, I honestly could care less. He likes to bark about how he and his boys did it back in the day, but tell me whenever he offers a real solution to any of our current problems. He doesn't.
He also likes to pimp his relationship with Jon Vilma who's on the board of trustees, but I remind you all that Jon was on the search committee that hired Mark Richt, who 2 days later hired his son as the quarterback coach completely unchecked. They also passed on Dan Mullen as is well-documented.
So, if Romberg is the legend he thinks he is, why do we know the name Terry Porter? And no I wasn't listening to him today, but please tell me I'm wrong and he offered some real solutions other than bluster.
Quarterman gave them an *** chewing before Q4 yesterday...see how that worked out. The wide Receivers need their asses kicked, not chewed out...our QB's run around begging for someone to get open, and never happens. They quit on routes, and don't know what the F to do when the QB scrambles. Also, unless the ball is thrown into their guts, they are not skilled enough to make the tough catches.
What were his solutions?
For one, bring in Alonzo to crack skulls.
Hard to believe, but FIU is probably the best deal in the state right now, especially if you intend on staying local post graduation. He's right about UM's declining academic standing.
