I never said Butch would be worse. I said Ice and coley could be worse. Dont put words in my mouth. And you need to read carefully. Im speaking in the minds of Miami and how they've acted over the years. And yes a coach with multiple years left on his contract is worth more than a one year coach. Coaches do not want to work under somebody that has a one year deal. If you want Butch Davis you give him multple years, not a slap in the face one year deal. And once again no decent staff would work for a guy under one year contract
Relax. Ice or Coley would be worse? How do you know? What do you expect from Al in 2015? Seriously, what do you expect? Please answer this question.
I would give Butch a multiple year deal, I'm not against it. It is Miami who came up with this genius strategy to let the new president continue to micromanage the athletic department. That is why I suggested this one year deal because it fits their bonehead strategy. It also isn't a one year deal, it just has a small buyout. It would be a normal deal but it gives our school the flexibility to implement their genius strategy.
Assistant coaches generally only get ONE YEAR deals. There is no real security for assistant coaches. This is the norm. Again your fixated on the irrelevant. The irrelevant is worrying about who the next coach would assemble. The relevant is fixing the major issue (ALbort).
I dont need a high school coach being the HC @ Miami. There is a big step from HS HC and big time college HC. Coley, not gonna lie, its just that feeling I dont think he will cut it as of now as HC. And as far as the one year deal. Im not talking about the assistants' one year deal. Im talking about who they work under. Typically if a new coach is hired then the previous regime's staff is gone. Why would you work for a coach that might be gone which in turn means your gone too.
