Highlights Trust The Process......Again

I don’t think most are ready to jump ship on Mario. I and most are willing to give him the chance to correct the mistakes. Get rid of gattis. Hopefully Ponce too
I hope they correct the mistakes yesterday. That doesn’t mean firing guys. But if we have to wait to correct anything and it’s simply dumping our OC and QB corches at the end of the year the damage will be done already and extreme.

Prime Butch wouldn't be able to recruit in 2022. All of the South Florida receivers would still go elsewhere, and every defensive lineman would still be going to Texas A&M.
Miami was 5 years removed from playing for a national title when he started snatching up great recruits. The program still had a huge buzz. The only reason for the decline was a lack of scholarships in previous years. Even then, you still had SFL kids incredibly interested in staying at home. It is night and day different now. One good season since 2004. It's a different animal now and much harder to sell.

This narrative is ridiculous. Really can't admit that maybe TVD was overhyped and the fact that Rambo and Harley are gone is exposing him? Really gonna run with that dumb Oregon narrative of "ruining quarterbacks" when Miami has receivers that can't get open against aTm's third-string secondary and TVD is staring down receivers? Not to mention all the stories coming out about him being in his own head, not having any dynamic with his revivers, etc. That hard for this fan base to admit they might've bought fool's gold from a kid who just aired it out a ton against average teams when the Canes were 2-4 on the season and had nothing to play for, or lose.
Have some of these people watched us play in the last 10 years? Look it’s cool to blame the guy that makes 8 million for everything I get it! The facts are these upperclassmen lost to fiu just 3 years ago. TVD barely connects with Teammates. But you expect them to buy into Mario and be what? Undefeated? His biggest task now is getting them to understand there’s a whole acc schedule left! Why do you guys think you brought in so many transfers he knows that winning keeps the recruiting momentum going! Nobody knows that more than him. TVD misses open guys this year by a mile but you swear it’s just gattis’s issue? He’s not engaged! At least Jake plays like he wants the job. And the transitive property doesn’t work in sports. Losing to mtsu doesn’t mean we won’t win an acc game. Hopefully Mario can hammer home the urgency some more (he’s done it through the media several times already)

Butch's 95-98 teams STILL fought hard...but were exhausted because of no depth (especially 96 & 97)...

It's an unknowable on Butch, but let me ask this. Were Butch's recruiting powers so great that he could get a 5 star defensive lineman to turn down $5M from the Aggies to come to Miami? Maybe on offense if he ran a spread he could negate the receiver issue, but in an NIL world can Butch Davis at the peak of his powers make a dent in A&M's recruiting on defense? Or does Prime Butch come with $50M in petty cash to spread around to his recruits?

2022 is a different world to 1999.

Much different world. Not to mention SEC is spending a lot of money in South Fla. Its just two completely different eras

I'm not running with the "ruining quarterbacks" narrative.

Herbert was still drafted #6 overall so I hate that narrative.

First off, Mario himself called TVD the best QB in the country. Now I know that was new coach hype. But everybody in America had very high expectations from TVD.

But Mario is absolutely not doing TVD any favors. If he could look like a star in a gimmicky offense, I don't care. Why not keep running that "gimmicky" offense until you get your guys and systems in place? Why this wholesale complex offensive system change without knowing what you're going to get when we all know TVD could thrive in a different system?

He blundered with TVD and this offense. At best he did not play to TVDs strengths and at worst he absolutely ruined a first round QB. Neither is very confidence inspiring and definitely doesn't promote "patience".

You throw TVD under the bus all you want but this TVD we're seeing this year is not the same one we saw last year.

Like most things, it's probably a bit of both. TVD may have been slightly overrated but Mario also is not giving him a friendly system for him to run to maximize his potential and our offense.
your exactly right! the bad thing all the old school canes believe in this run n pound offense! so we goin have to wait! sucks!

How do we get SBNation to do same infographic for Miami??

It would be glorious!!

No he wouldn’t. Have you seen him lately?
My point was from a professional perspective, not a medical one. My whole point, which you are obviously missing, probably willingly, is that coaches who don't adapt, fail, and are fired. Before you say "Richt wasn't fired, he resigned." Yes, he resigned because not only was his health not so great, but also because he didn't want to retool the O. He didn't want to fire people. He was done.

My point still remains. Coaches that don't make changes in areas of critical failure don't make it here.
