True Freshmen that I think are most likely to make an impact

You all know by now I love Dunnigan as a prospect. I don’t know if he’ll really get a chance this season, but what a skill set.

Cantwell has consistently reminded me of Taylor Lewan.

If we’re going to have some surprise youngster break through, I pray it’s at LB.

Interesting comp, you mind elaborating?
Only ask because IIRC, Lewan was a pretty light guy coming out of HS, but was a pretty supreme athlete. He just needed the weight/strength, but the feet were always a plus.

No OL expert, but I’d expect Cantwell to be the type who tests freakishly well (like Lewan did), but play a little tall and not as squatty or quick laterally, which were some of the knocks on Lewan coming out of college and part of the reason he fell out of the Top 10. Cantwell also wins ‘mean.’

I think Cantwell is probably already stronger than he was, which is surreal, but didn’t look technically refined. Anyway, have already heard he’s a mental freak and working beyond hard at his craft, so the comp could change once we see him against college competition.

I like our young lbs these last two classes, especially wiley and campbell but LB requires you being mentally ahead of the curve.

So idk if a we will see someone young start right away, but hopefully by mid season we have someone takeover that wlb spot

Our schedule overall is as weak as the Big East days and from a calendar perspective lines up perfectly for young player development.

September: Stanford, Florida A&M, Wake, Central Michigan
October: Clemson (10/3), Noles, Pitt, UNC

If Mario/Dawson unleash Mensah and our offense, we will we score like we did in 2024 and will sit our starters midway through the third quarter in every one of those games except Clemson )maybe even them, too). The young guys will have a lot of game time reps going into Notre Dame on November 7th.

This class has a lot of kids that could be fighting for meaningful time which is crazy because his a great roster. Some young guys are going to really push these vets

Nicely done @FrancisSawyer.

I’m curious how much the log jam factor at certain positions will play a role in who plays and who doesn’t. In particular, WR room looks pretty packed.
Thanks for the kind words. I would have gotten back to you sooner but I'm distracted by another project I have going on right now but that will all be finished up soon.

I certainly agree with you. We have a bit of a bottle neck at WR. I can also see that kind of thing beginning to form at other positions as well like CB, RB, OLand DL. I have a feeling that this OL and DL class will very good. I also have a feeling that this DL class was extremely underrated. This roster is getting to the point where it will begin to really galvanize. We just might be on the verge of something big here. I believe the foundation is set. Just need a few more superstars on each side of the ball to really take us to the next level. We have Malachi and a few more potential game changers plus a deep WR room plus OL, DL, CB and RB but we need a few more game changers on each side. We may have that by the time the 2027 class is set maybe 2028. What is undeniable is that this is a playoff team right now. Can it be a National Championship team?
