True Freshman QB is not coming down here and beating our ***

I've saw that as well and that seems to be what their fans fear the most about us. Being at home, against a freshman QB, a team that hasn't been world beaters on the road, that seems to struggle to defend the only thing we excel at on offense, and the fact that their offense isn't exactly lighting it up either... despite all of the naysayers and the fact that we've had our own struggles... we actually match up very well to VT

It's all about OUR offense as much as anything they got... we need to sustain drives and SCORE TD's...

Their offense has put some points up against weak teams, but overall has been struggling nearly as much as ours. The only difference is their schedule has had some of the worst defenses in football on it including the worst defense in football in ECU. The worst defense we've played so far is UNC while UNC isn't even the 3rd worst defense VT has played.

I'm not saying we'll shut them down all night and keep them to 10 points, but I have a hard time seeing them have a game offensively that is similar to last year.

we made a fat 3rd stringer look good against us. However, I do expect the defense to play a lot harder and knock him around like we did the Syracuse QB, and I doubt anyone else we play is as tough as that kid was.

What fat 3rd stringer are you referring too?

Last year if you watched the game it was two guys that ate them up Sam Rogers and Bucky Hodges....unless they have TEs like them this year, then they should be able to key on Phillips and company.

Not too worried about this game to be honest but ND does have me losing sleep . Luckily that game doesn't effect the ACC so even worst case scenario if we win Saturday is pretty **** good.

Adams is the key to that game. Stop Adams and you stop that offense because most of Wimbush’s throws are built off reads that are set up from the run game...

Rogers was a full back. He gave us problems out there last year. Caught that ball wide open to ice the game. I'm not sure they have another FB like him but I'm sure they might explore that same play again at some point

I expect the defense to show up much like last year's Primetime game against Frenchie.

They will beat up Jackson on every single passing down. I doubt he plays the whole game. That is how much confidence I have in our front 7 on Saturday night.

He’s a RS but yeah

Didn't know he was Redshirt my bad. But still y'all find the last frosh QB to come into Miami and light our *** up?

I'm about to go look right now.

Francois didn't light us up in 2016 either Miami was smacking his *** around and put his face in the dirt. I want us to force Josh Jackson to beat us.

This, put bracket coverage on Phillips and lock him up and let the defensive line eat!

Not worried about the QB
Their RB and our offense kinda concerns me tho

It’s actually the opposite. VT’s running game isn’t strong. Their QB is a threat.

Yea, the only P5 team VT has even gotten to at least 4.0 yards a carry against was WVU who has one of the worst defenses in the nation(101st according to S&P+).

As a whole, VT is 9th on the year in the ACC with 3.98 yards/carry.

Against P5 opponents they are also 9th in the conference with 3.73 yards/carry.

In conference play only they are 13th in the conference with 3.34 yards/carry.

In the month of October they were dead last in the ACC with 3.36 yards/carry.

Great stats. Certainly, encouraging. This game will be won or lost by the Offense unless we find a way to score on Defense/Special Teams.

I just don’t want Manny getting too cute and trying to out think ourselves. Keep him off balance with different reads, blitzes, etc but don’t get
to cute to where we are confusing ourselves on Defense
