2026 Tristen "TK5" Keys 5* WR from Hattiesburg, MS commits to LSU

The 247 crew thought he was going to commit to UTenn, only one crystal ball. (Tom Loy). He was very solid to LSU, but rumors started floating around that if UTenn switched to Adidas, that may play a factor & swing the pendulum back in their favor.

Keys is from my relatives town in MS, & my cousin actually coached him in youth league. (Hence my dogmatic “It won’t & they won’t). I knew he wasn’t coming here b/c he was a SEC kid 100%; but, I’m 1000% certain that move pushed him.

LSU is a WR factory right behind O$U; what or who has UTenn produced at the position? Jalin Hyatt? Velus Jones? Dont’e Thornton? Cedric Tillman? Joshua Palmer??Lmao

This was a 100% NIL move, & he will be the poster child featured for UTenn’s future Adidas commercials & advertising.
YES IM IN AGREEMENT AND IN THE SHORT TIME WE WERE SLIGHTLY IN IT . @DMoney ALWAYS MENTIONED THE ADIDAS LINK for him as a plus for us.

So its clear Adidas is a factor somewhat and your right its an nil play. Hey Adidas landed my relative the lottery pick in the nba draft this year and got the fam JJ Smith at OSU as well. So they are pushing for certain guys.

They r 100% pushing, but specifically w UTenn, they have an exclusive NIL clause with them. Not only did they break the bank for them, I was told very specifically that biggest enticement for the switch was Adidas pushing UTenn as the face of its brand, enabling kids to collect $$ being featured for them.

So we’ll see if this bold, desperate strategy works.

I have absolutely NO information on this; but I actually think that Adidas isn't doing us any favors because we may be exiting Stage Left!

Ummmm, sir, u haven’t been seeing me scream for the past 5 yrs? Lol.

Here’s what I know about Adidas:

They care about Adidas. If u look at their futbol unis, it’s literally a walking bill board for them, 3 stripes r everywhere in the designs. ****, Adidas just spent a bank on Manchester United, & then told them we’re penalizing ur $$ b/c u’re not winning enough.

I told ya’ll waaaaaaaaay back when, if we don’t make them look good, they will begin to turn their attention elsewhere. We’ll be treated like royalty, initially, & that romance will wane if we don’t hold up our end of the bargain, they will begin looking for the next.

Once upon a time we were their priority, but now? Not so much. UTenn is (for CFB), & u thank two reasons for this:
1. SEC. They’ve been looking for a SEC power for a while. TAMU, & Miss St ain’t it.
2. Candace Parker. She’s not only a valued member of Adidas, she’s on one of their initiative boards & she pushed for this heavy.

@Rellyrell What is Adidas connection to Keys though? Do they think there is something particularly special about him, or could it be any premier player? I know you said Keys is SEC but hypothetically, would Adidas care one way or the other if Keys was in a UM jersey or UT jersey if they sponsor both?

I guess I feel like Miami couldnt have delivered a better gift to Adidas than Cam Ward last year so I'm surprised they are shifting their focus.

Anyways - Thanks for the interesting info!

Hmm wonder if any other apparel provider has treated us like that... Hmm. Lol
