We have done pretty well with some north florida kids, goin to be interesting to see who we get up there

Very few. Where is this school, near Jacksonville? We almost never pull kids out of Jacksonville, particularly elite players. A handful over the years from Gainesville, a few from Lake City.

Show me I'm wrong. I'm hoping this is the year it changes.

Miami has been burned in Jacksonville over the last decade. I never expect to land anyone from that area.

I guess we forget the drama-less filled recruiting of darrion owens.
Besides him, Jacksonville has been horrible to us.

Owens is the exception.

Carl Walker about 15 years ago was a more or less elite Jacksonville player, who mostly sat on the bench at the U. In the '80's, we got the best TE in Jax, Kevin Kirkeide, but he sat on the bench as well. We almost got that big DL from Jacksonville, but something happened. You know, the guy throwing up the U at the UF camp. Wasn't there that DL who went to ND? We used to recruit Jacksonville a bit better in the '60's, when we got Tom Silky Sullivan, but the good black kids were more ready to come to the U before the other state schools. I think Tom was the second black player in the program, after Ray Bellamy and maybe just before Chuck Foreman.

I think the staff should try hard for the north Florida kids. I can't understand why all of them would want to go to Tallahassee, Gainesville, Tuscaloosa or Athens. Those are not cosmopolitan big cities, they're probably all full of trailers and stills.

Staff is tired of the So Fla. Drama...finally starting to hit No Florida hard

Just as much drama up there lately. Barrington, Nix, Glenn, Northrup brought a ton of drama.

I don't even remember Barrington...we got screwed by all the rest. We could probably do as well in California or Texas as in the Jacksonville area. I still don't see the appeal of the college towns in Florida or Alabama or Georgia. OK, so they get big crowds on Saturday, but what's the appeal otherwise?

Won't make much difference. if history is a lesson, we know that it's almost impossible to pull north Florida kids to Miami. Every now and then we get one, but never in significant numbers. If we could pull just one top quality player it would be significant.

I consider it a victory that this Alexander kid is going out of state and away from Florida. I'd hate to see him turned by FSU near the end. No one knows how much these kids will get paid by the southern cheaters.

Trinity's 2015 class is more loaded than any other school. The talent in Florida this year is insane. That's why you saw so much debate over that Orlando top 100. Everyone knows how loaded and talented the south Florida players are. But, the central/north Florida kids are just as good. You look through the offer sheets and watch the tape of those 100 kids and you'll be surprised. Just look at how many of those kids have been offered by Bama.

Can I get a link to the Orlando Top 100?

Cotdang that's hard to read.

Come to think of it...this kid will never get top-flight homestyle BBQ in L.A. It will be imitation.

The value of the long BBQ thread can not be underestimated. Coaches need to put their heads together, come up with the best ideas on sauces, coals or wood chips, etc. Maybe hire a BBQ consultant.
