In his tenure here we haven't really seen much of trick plays from Dawson but this is one game he should incorporate it into the game plan. The element of surprsie is the BEST play in football period when executed properly. We need to get on top of ND and bury them quickly while making that freshman QB panic. The crowd noise with an early lead will be our 12th AND 13th man. GO CANES and lets roll with a few of unexpected plays to open up their defense! No doubt in my mind we win this game.

See, I have the complete opposite reaction to this. I don't know the state of special teams on the Miami side this year but with a freshman QB that's never thrown a pass and Miami's struggles last year I would bet the farm that Notre Dame has been practicing fake punts or field goals.

Miami absolutely better be ready for that s*** because it's coming. And they better not let a freshman QB off the hook because they can't see a fake punt or FG coming from a mile away or give up a kickoff TD. I pray Mario has learned his lesson.

when youre as explosive as we were last year and before TVD had a meltdown, you dont need a ton of trick plays or really much at all to generate explosion and points.

Dawson always has something in bag.. Called the UF play but didnt even need it as we had game in full control, called reverse with Brashard Smith against UL couple years back where the tackle got the highlight pancake against DB.. Arroyo throw back to ward against UF

Honestly we need to be aware with ND for trick plays, especially in special teams.. There coach is highly agressive and will go for it on 4th down, even if they send out punt team on his side of field with plus yardage, watching games they have some creative fake punts, seen reverse on kickoff return, etc. They will do anything for extra possession. Guys need to be alert and a good discipline special teams should be aware of this all game long.

Lashlee took the flea flicker with him to Dallas.

And they require more discipline than we've been showing unfortunately.

Wiley E Coyote drew up that trick play.
Got that out of the ACME Playbook.

We’d run more but there’s something in the Geneva Convention against running too many trick plays while simultaneously withholding depth charts and injury information. Apparently, the Convention highly frowns upon so much trickery
