Lamar alone could’ve saved him a few years. We could’ve had Dalvin Cook on those teams too but FSU stole him away and people would argue that Yearby was better which obviously proved to be wrong. Not even dogging Yearby he was an okay player here but Cook could’ve been a program changer.
dalvin cook NEVER was coming here...this is why we got Yearby.

Dalvin during his recruitment COMMITTED to Clemson AND UF....Before going to FSU.

This myth that He was coming here needs to stop...JAMES COLEY i believe came over n let us know fsu had him wrapped n pushed for yearby.

We actually had Dalvin Cooks actual brother on the basketball team i think some of yall forget that n he aint come lol

Lamar Jacksonw as a guy they shouldve recruited and landed.

Yeah he wasn’t coming. Jimbo got in good with his grandmother iirc. She raised him and I think practically raised another kid on that Central team whose name slips me. I can’t remember. I do think if we had a better coach than Golden we would’ve had a much better shot at him.

Yeah cooks recruitment was a rollercoster he committed to 3 schools Clemson Florida and then FSU but we didn’t get Sony Michel either who was a star since 8 grade and he’s teammate McKenzie also Lamar and Quincy Wilson who wanted an offer ,the facts are every year we miss out on too many tri county blue chips and there are millions of excuses why they didn’t stay home

Notice that the best ones get the most attention from the good eval schools (at that time) and go somewhere else because the school recruiting them wouldn’t allow them to go to UM. Rinse and repeat, it’s been the same problem forever

While I’m inclined to agree with you. It’s gonna be hard to build a national board when you can’t even keep the best local kids here.

The issue isn’t that we aren’t recruiting South Florida it’s that we are missing out on the top guys time after time for the last 10-15 years. Whether that be a 5* all world guy or we under evaluated and miss a 3* guy who ends up behind an NFL player.
Facts

Every coach after Butch has the same **** thing in common. Can’t get the best from sfla that the big schools want. When it’s a phenom you can cross them off the list.

And I used to believe if we hired Butch he would win those battles, and I was wrong and now realize he would lose those battles in today’s era.

We have landed a bunch of the top players from here in the last 15 and it has led to nothing. Our national brand fell off because we became mediocre as a program not recruiting

We see teams in the acc and other conferences recruit worse than us by rankings but have way more success.

The big problem we have is every coach comes in and try's the same **** over n over again, mainly because we keep hiring miami guys for only God knows why..Mario has at least had some discernment with which sfla guys to take

Your talking about Davante Phillips.

Davante only stayed there for a year or a short time with dalvins grandma. Dalvin was already at fsu...but he had to because his mom got killed.

We recruited Phillips but wasnt gonna be able to land him because he was a kid who had to leave south florida. One of the true ones that had to leave....his brother was in Liberty City shooting n unaliving ppl which led to his mother's situation so it really wasnt safe for Davante for awhile down here as a target.

Rudolph committed to us in like Summer of 2012, & then de-committed in like Spring 2013. Ppl weren’t tripping b/c he was a 3* at that time, then he rose up the ranks ASAP. Bro was a constant on campus, & we thought he would re-commit….sad times.

I think they wanted him to play DB

Yep that’s who it was. He was a d*** good receiver for that Miami Central team! Kinda similar to Derrick Thomas back in the day needed to get out of Miami to leave a bad situation.
