Trevor Lawrence NOT opting out

Good PR move but also irrelevant since it doesn't look like there will be a season. Disappointing GR15 couldn't just wait a week for the season to be canceled so he doesn't look like a quitter. Not sure why he had to pull trigger so quickly.

You're making arguments against a point I didn't make, maybe this comment was meant for someone else but I didn't even say any of what you're trying to argue against.

My comment was in response to someone saying that he's risking his draft position if he gets injured by coming back for this season & my point was, he'll still be the first QB drafted no matter what injury he would get because QB's are valued way higher than every other position & because he's so highly touted by scouts they'll draft him anyway, meaning he's not taking a risk at all.

As to what ever other narratives, I said none of those things, never said a word about "playing the game right way" or never did I call anyone a quitter, nor did I say a word about Rousseau or have a problem with him leaving. So what are you even getting at? How does anything you said correlate to my comment about Lawrence being a high draft pick regardless??

I have no issue with players opting-out, so I don't get your point.
I fully received your point and agreed that QB’s are a completely different animal than any other position. I was only making the point (to readers in general, not you) that regardless of “love for the sport” the athlete will still be seen as a quitter when their personal choices don’t line up with fans wants.

Ah. Makes more sense now. In any case the results are the same. Neither is playing in 2020. What will be an interesting decision is if the NFL draft still happens does Lawrence go ahead and declare or does he come back for 2021? I don't know that he waits until April 2022 to go to the NFL.

Already wring on the opt out and now doubling down? Please don't gamble...
Huh? How was I wrong on him opting out ? I've always maintained he would play.

I dont gamble tho (not for money at least).

Also, you have the wrong muppet avatar. Definitely should be these guys:

Fits your posting personality better.

I’m sure the Clemson players make more than a rookie contract...plus I bet part of their bag deal was to play for 4. I find it hard to believe they always stay there out of pride.

League minimum for a rookie is $480k, top rounds have three year contracts.

So you think they're shelling out $480k at the bare minimum? You think it's possibly more?

So let's just pretend you're right for this past year and past year only. These are essentially kids. You're going to suggest that they're fiscally responsible enough to hide their ill gotten gains from friends, relatives, fans, rival fans, all the way to the IRS? They don't slip up at all, then that person exposes them? Got duffle bags under the bed, in the closet, up in some drop ceiling, etc.

This board sometimes, it's hysterical.

Trevor lawrence aint tryna be in clubs chasing thots, that boy tryna get married before draft day and shizz.. No right or wrong, kid just built different

Big fan of this kid, good Christian from a great family, world would be a much better place if his generation had more kids like him

well the risk is more than the reward for someone with his draft stock. So I have to assume he is either slightly irrational or he is getting paid
Its funny how people changed their view of risk, after our country's Pubic Health System did last March. The world has faced numerous pandemics, and the human species is still here.

I guess you can say if he played this season at all he would be irrational, because he could blow out a knee or have some other debilitating injury.

He could also get mangled in a car accident on his way home from practice, he could choke to death on a fish bone. Risk is everywhere, all the time, whether the media reminds you every waking second or not.

How about every armchair QB out there respects whatever each of these kids wants to do? Good for Lawrence, he stayed. I'm not gonna throw Greg under the bus either.

This isn't your life for the entertainment of others.
So you're saying people should make their own decisions, right or wrong, and shouldn't be judged for it?

Facebook and Twitter would be out of business in a week.

If I were his parents I would not allow it. He might easily get wrapped up in social pressure, or wanting a championship. But his advisors need to tell him it’s not in his interests. It’s simply too weird that I have to assume money is at play.
We certainly can't allow him to want to win a championship.....better nip that in the bud immediately! He might infect the rest of the team with this vicious mindset too!!!
