He very well could've been one of the ones that already tested positive for it. They had a **** load of players that tested positive and I don't recall them saying who at all.

What does it say when the top 2 players in the draft opt IN, and our home town potential first rounder opts out? Drew always ******* **** up. It’s a money play. Drew gave the fam an advance and he’s chillin, but I can see the rest of the big cats want to win.

How much is Clemson paying him to play? He’s worth huge amounts of money to Clemson. Zero chance of a natty without him. He can get paid now and still have little pressure compared to being “the guy” at some bottom feeder NFL team.

Could GR return if they postpone the season? At that point, there’s no excuse for Covid. Granted he signed with an agent, I’d imagine he could get that waived with Covid.
 
I’m sure he has an insurance policy in the case of an injury. Good for him. 👍🏻

These guys aren’t opting out because they’re scared of Covid. Shortcuts or they hate their coaches or school.

Watch for the top guys to start opting out of seasons from this point forward. It started with bowls. Now it’s the Covid excuse. People see that there’s no backlash so the next logical step is you’ll see opt outs from this point forward.

If the logic is why risk getting hurt then why wouldn’t that same logic apply after Covid is out of the picture?

It’s not so much about hating the school or coaches.... it’s all about getting paid.

What you may see is great freshmen and sophomore seasons and then sitting out junior year for “draft prep” especially if they feel they are likely first round pick.

I can see RBs doing that especially Bama RBs.

If the kids that sit out become busts at a higher rate then gms and scouts will value them lower on their boards. That should change the calculus of the players contemplating sitting out.

Have the players that have sat out bowl games or majority of the season done fairly well in the NFL?

That is correct. He would have seven figures in his bank account by Friday if he opted out today.

You're making arguments against a point I didn't make, maybe this comment was meant for someone else but I didn't even say any of what you're trying to argue against.

My comment was in response to someone saying that he's risking his draft position if he gets injured by coming back for this season & my point was, he'll still be the first QB drafted no matter what injury he would get because QB's are valued way higher than every other position & because he's so highly touted by scouts they'll draft him anyway, meaning he's not taking a risk at all.

As to what ever other narratives, I said none of those things, never said a word about "playing the game right way" or never did I call anyone a quitter, nor did I say a word about Rousseau or have a problem with him leaving. So what are you even getting at? How does anything you said correlate to my comment about Lawrence being a high draft pick regardless??

I have no issue with players opting-out, so I don't get your point.
