Trevor Lawrence NOT opting out

Yeah, that's definitely something that can't be taught. Boy do we need those type of guys.
Yeah, but I think Manny is going in the right direction. Dont forget we got off probation a little bit ago, but I would say the culture is still.about the same now as it was back then, maybe a little better.

Dont know if it's been mentioned in the thread but he has a multi million dollar insurance policy, a luxury most other players do not enjoy. He was always gonna play.

I tell you what tho: I bet he wont finish the season.
Who was that Oklahoma QB that broke his leg his Senior year? Isn't he still in the league?

This is the difference of kids who live in Clemson, Tuscaloosa and kids in south florida.

Trevor Lawrence and his teammates are the big dogs in ther college towns. They are rding aroun din their f150's and chargers and are stars. They have no previous players hardly returning to their schools from the league and are seen as gods and get preferrential treatment EVERYWHERE.

-Most of our guys return from the nfl to work out in the offseason./..including other nfl stars. They work out with these guys. They see themselves as comparable. They see how close it is. F150's and chargers arent sh*t down here, there are ferrari's and lambos every other stop light. Trevor Lawrence could be in heisman contention at Miami and he would be asmall fry in the scheme of things in south florida when it comes to prestge and stardom.

Different mentality in South Florida, thats why we have guys soon as they have any type of grade...they are bouncing. 6th round to undrafted doesnt matter..they are betting on themselves
Trevor lawrence aint tryna be in clubs chasing thots, that boy tryna get married before draft day and shizz.. No right or wrong, kid just built different

I gotta respectfully disagree with you there. Once upon a time MIA football players ran South FLA & MIA. They had more stardom & popularity then professional athletes in the city. Specifically players from the Dolphins & Marlins. The reason for this is because the MIA football team has always been S.FLA's team, so there will always be a strong connection between the community & the players. There was a time when the players in the region cared less about brand promotion & chasing a check quickly as possible, and more about winning and becoming the best football player they could possibly be. So the main divide that exists is not between podunk college town vs alpha-level world city. It's between winning & losing. In many ways it's a catch-22 situation. The players are leaving early because for the past 15+ yrs the program top to bottom has not committed itself to winning, but in order to win the program needs players to stay.

incredibly unfair to greg who neither of us know with this insinuation. it isnt about not loving the game but protecting your future. the issue fans are only looking at it from a selfish pov.
Ummm...what? I didn't mention Greg at all. I mean I'm not happy at all that he's not playing but I understand why he wouldn't and I don't think it's because he doesn't want to.

The guy I was responding to acted like there was literally no reason Lawrence should play this year when the obvious reason is because he simply likes to play football.

I said it prior in the Greg opting out post. Our players don’t give 2 ***** about winning games at Miami. Save all these recruiting tweets about “putting on for their city”. We will see where Greg gets drafted, I will bet he won’t be a top ten pick. He has 8-9 games of film.

Not just this situation. Wouldn’t surprise me if he stays for his senior year. Where can we get this type of mentality. Our guys leave for a 5th round grade.

Zero to do with being from S FL or from Alaska. Has everything to do with being a competitor. We laugh at pictures of Tebow crying after a loss. But you need guys that hurt like that when they lose and would do anything not to feel that way. Those players don't need a coach to motivate them. That's why you rarely see a team like Bama letting a G5 hang around. They generally play with the same intensity as when they play another Sec school.

I think we are starting to get those players and even Diaz has changed his recruiting philosophy. I think he's getting dogs now. We could have lots of players opting out, but we only have GR15. That's a welcome change from the past.

dude it has a lot to do w where youre from and who youre surrounded by. LT and marshall will leave early too if they pan out

If I were his parents I would not allow it. He might easily get wrapped up in social pressure, or wanting a championship. But his advisors need to tell him it’s not in his interests. It’s simply too weird that I have to assume money is at play.

Some here may not realize how important other team members are to some men.

I was serving in combat, did my time, and got orders to go home. We were doing well, although short handed - and after discussing the matter with the First Sergeant - we "lost" or never received those orders. I stayed additional weeks helping my team - because we were close.

Lost the second pages of orders. They got me the third time - I had escorts.

Guys like him are rare - but they've a sense of responsibility - and seeing things through to a conclusion - who are very unselfish. Trevor - I'll root like Hades against him - but that SOB has my total respect for not being a self-centered, selfish candyass like I see in so many.

Fine. I hope we beat the crap out of Clemson, knock him on his *** every other play - but after that - back to my utmost respect for putting himself out there that extra bit - for his brothers on his team.

no one will stay past their junior year if theyre legit. it just wont happen. go geta literally knows some of these kids and their backgrounds. may wanna listen vs hypothesizing on something you dont know about

he could literally be all of those things off the field. you haven't met him nor do you know him. kinda ridiculous to assume hes the gods greatest gift bc he chose to play w.e. games we get this year. youre just saying this bc he made a decision you agree w for your entertainment alone. thanks for your service btw.
