Trevor Lawrence NOT opting out

I'm a little surprised because he literally has nothing to prove. Guaranteed Top 2 pick and he already won trophy. No hate to GR at all but ****, must be nice having guys like that.
It not all about proving something, he is just built different. He loves the game, he loves playing with his teammates, and most of all he wants to win. He is not worried about the money because he knows he's the truth. He is not worried about stepping on the field and it being his last time. Freak accidents happen all the time and you dont have to be playing football for it to happen.

Well ******* said!! Hate to bring up a bad memory, and dont wish it upon anyone but look at Kendrick Norton.

There's no real reason for him to opt-out, he's going to be a top 3 draft pick regardless.

He's also wants to win another championship & get a shot at a Heisman, so why not play?

And before all you "Covid is gonna kill us all!" panic police chime in, he obviously isn't as concerned about it & feels like he's in good hands health wise, so if the kid wants to play there's nothing wrong with it.

Called this last week. This kid has shown multiple times he’s a team first guy.

Also, why is everyone discounting the possibility he may already carrying the antibody?

Half the team has tested positive. He may have been one of them.

Would have been nice if GR15 would have had the same pride in his team. Smh
Rosseau was nothing but a first class guy in his time at UM. Never griped about playing time, worked hard and had an incredible season last year.

You have no idea the kind of teammate he was. Him deciding to do what is best for his health doesn’t mean he didn’t have team pride. I can guarantee you every single one of his teammates won’t have a bad word to say about him.

Yeah, that's definitely something that can't be taught. Boy do we need those type of guys.

Would be nice if we could get some kids like this in the fold. Its beyond tiresome with the drove of guys here who leave early not to mention this current covid ****.

Im actually shocked Brevin didn't opt out.

Whatever happened to seeing it through? For **** sake clemson had the entire DL returning. Ettienne returning as a senior running back. All those dudes care about winning.

Id dont care how people view it, but FFS GR15 was a three star athlete who barely scratched the surface. Still had alot to prove. I still think he goes 1st round but I can guarantee if he stayed and showed out hed be Top 10. Rosenhaus definitely had the hooks in early on this one.

It doesnt matter how good we recruit. It doesnt matter how good we can develope. When our top guys leave early and our not top guys leave early we will always have a depth issue.

People are already talking about if J Phillps has a good year he could leave. Same for Cam harris and Al Blades. Its mind boggling to me. Travis Homer, DJ dallas, Walton, Joe Yearby, the list goes on. Brad Kaaya left early and now makes movies or some ****. WTF are these guys thinking? Bandy, Norton, Garvin... its endless.

The current crop just doesnt give s ****. if they really did we wouldn't have an ongoing depth issue for 18 years running.

Whos next? Nesta, Frierson, Scaife, Blades, and Ivey?

Nothing wrong with wanting to play. I’m more thinking of a bad injury rather than using the covid excuse. He’s not getting drafted top 3 with a bad knee injury or something along those lines. The covid excuse is just a nice excuse given it’s such low risk for him. Personally I think it’s a cop out for kids really not wanting to risk injury and try the insurance policy gig.

And I’m sure 400k or more probably doesn’t hurt.

Who thinks Ed Reed would opt out after his Soph year? Some players just have a different level of pride/dog in them.

I'm not knocking anyone's decision. It's up to them to make the best decision for them and their family. God bless them.

I just happen to love cfb much more than the NFL and I like seeing the best players compete.

It really is that simple. And there is nothing wrong with expressing what decisions by others you admire the most. I think most of us are even willing to admit that we may not make the same decision he makes in this situation. Like you said, some people just built different and that is what makes some people special.

while i love CFB, these players want to make money despite your love lol. its their right to monetize off their talent rather than play for free

There's a reason these type of players succeed not only in football but in life. They realize they have two choices:
1. Take the easy route be just good enough punch their ticket like the average 9-5 joe that "got my money"
Or
2. Be truly be an innovator pushing the envelope to not only be the best that ever played but someone who changed the game.

Edit: I'm tired of people making excuses for quitters. Call it whatever you'd like but there's something to respect in those that do everything they can to be the best and grab hold of those chances to perfect their craft instead of making excuses as to why someone else is holding them down or "it's a business decision".

True winners compete. True winners don't have excuses.
