Trevor Lawrence NOT opting out

The minute he opts out he’d have way more than 200 grand , come on. Y’all gotta be smarter than that.

Endorsements , agents etc would be breaking him off big boy money .200 k? Lol, gtfoh.
They know this brother,it's just their defense mechanism. The guys din't quit on his team so of course it has to be dirty money or he's indoctrinated, etc.

Bro, I don't think the policy will get him near #1 pick money. That being said, I suspect Miami offered GR15 an insurance policy but he had already decided he wasn't playing.

You’d be surprised.

This isn’t the old cba, there isn’t Sam Bradford money being thrown around to rookies.

I'm a little surprised because he literally has nothing to prove. Guaranteed Top 2 pick and he already won trophy. No hate to GR at all but ****, must be nice having guys like that.

I don't think it was bags guys. It could be pride.

Even if they paid him 500k, 1m, etc., that's peanuts to being a top 5 NFL draft pick.

Personally, I think he's going to be the next John Elway in the NFL *if he stays healthy* and doesn't believe his own hype. One of the best NFL QB prospects I've seen in a long time.

Honestly, good for him.

Like honestly, I really want to say it's downright a STUPID decision lol. He shouldn't let his pride get in the way of anything. If there was one kid that needs to sit out, it's him!

You do realize when he optted out he’d be getting millions ? Endorsements for the first pick in the draft will be nuts. Agents will pay crazy money to have the first pick in draft. Life changing money.

If it were about money he’d opted out a week ago lol.

You do realize the draft is next year right? He can get Clemson money now and NFL money next year.

I figured he wouldn't though I hoped he would. This is what Saban talks about when he refers to recruiting hyper competitive players (he normally has his pick of the litter, so why does he choose a particular 4 star over a 5 star?). He gets players that hate losing and love football. Yeah GR15 quit on the team, but it's a good sign that he's the only one. I think Diaz is building that winning culture of dedicated players.

I actually like it. Yeah, it might not be the *smart* move, but it's the move he wants to make. And if he has another good year and declares, he would probably be the most costly #1 pick to obtain. NFL execs like a guy like that.

A leader doesn't abandon his guys.

I posted on another thread a while back. This is the difference in the programs and the players committed to them.
Bama has dudes that are predicted first round f also and they ain’t bouncing.
To beat players with first round talent and able to play in the league now you have to have the same or a freak of a QB. Clemson and Bama have faced each other enough times to know that. Clemson beat Bama with four day one picks in the trenches or some crazy sht like that and 3 of them were predicted day one picks if they would’ve left a year earlier. So they’re basically playing with nfl players while our players have been leaving to be udfa.
Until manny stops it and the players realize that it’s the only way your brothers stand a chance to be at the top we won’t get there. Our own chief of staff stayed one more year to win a championship.

In a normal year, I couldn’t blame any kid from wanting to play on that stage. However, in a season with little or no fans and no guarantee they complete a schedule or even hold a championship game, I’d be less willing to take the gamble.

Definitely. I personally like the decision as well. I want to see all the top talent play. But if there's anyone who didn't need a season, it's Goldilocks
