Trevill Holcy Decommits from Miami

Nothing at all against the kid...he handled it like a man and I wish him the best

I do, however, find it pretty funny that all the Don Bailey Jr wannabe cheerleaders came out da woodwerks the other day arguing with those of us who said this kid was a questionable take from a talent perspective.

The influx of garbage posters on this board is disturbing.

So the "Don Bailey Jrs." are the problem? Not those who condemned the staff for the take when he actually wasn't a take? Ranting about another Golden special when he wasn't.

Makes sense.

At the end of the day we're all fans of the team and the "Don Bailey Jr wannabe cheerleaders" whatever the **** that means makes no sense. Either you condemn and ***** about everything or you take an open perspective about what may or may not be happening and you get criticized. Ill man up and say that I didnt love the kid but ill give the kid a shot to prove himself and let him be a take now, if he doesnt perform well enough let him know it's best to look around later. Now IF he wanted to play wr and they let him kinow he's a take at te and that was the issue then fine but 10 months away from NSD this is hilarious that it's such a controversial topic

Watching the highlights, dude looks like a hybrid as opposed to a true WO. Hooks, curls, possession routes. Obvious matchup nightmare as a hybrid. Hope he rethinks it.

No idea if this actually happened, but if the kid had an offer, committed, and then had it rescinded...that's pretty ******.

I guess that sort of thing happens all the time everywhere though.

Actually....the REAL problem is Golden and his band of merry incompetent coordinators.

But on THIS board...yes, these blind apologist who do nothing but defend the current regime no matter how bad the results are getting out of control. For those of us that migrated from Grassy we saw the same thing during Randy and Coker's tenures.

Here's a novel idea...how about rooting for the PROGRAM. Better yet...what's BEST FOR THE PROGRAM. Even better yet.....when you see something or someone who is doing HARM to the program...you call it like you see it instead of turning a blind eye to the problem and continuously stating that the current regime is always in the right.

Questioning the status quo apparently makes you a non Canes fan .....I'd actually argue the opposite.

How many times have we seen FSU take a questionable kid only to drop him months later, and closer to signing day? At least we had the decency to drop him early on so he has other options.

The point is if the staff felt he was a take, which apparently they didn't, then yes, I'd take their evaluation over yours any day of the week and twice on Saturdays. They know what they are doing, you...well, not so much.

Funny how one-sided your rant is, while ignoring the many "fans" who continually invent any reason to get upset, often when there's nothing to get upset about. A kid decommitting or possibly not even having a committable offer suddenly becomes proof that the staff has no idea what they are doing. Sorry, but that's complete nonsense.

What do you think your actual affect on the program is? The message board buzz words like Corch, Folden, Fat Al don't do **** to help the program. Whats best for the program is not for Golden to fail. What is best for him to learn, adapt and grow as a coach. The funny part is you think you're any better than the people you oppose. You're all the same. Your group just laughs at the same jokes more.

these dudes always push guys they think are plan C players to commit. then they actually do

^^^^^^^^ bada bing bada boom.

Worse part about it...is they do it EARLY in the recruiting game. Dennis Turner last yr, Edoard...like they dont know how to just recruit or slow play a kid.

Just like Demetrius Jackson......oh wait that turned out pretty good.

This happens everywhere in the nation. I guess FSU sucks at it too since they dropped 3 or 4 kids last year at the end including CJ Worten.

I'm critical of the staff but some people can't even be objective any more.

Ive said this also and the ones ripping this staff now are the same ones who talk **** about other schools doing it just to forget later

Well said and don't forget jojo Robinson too...

To me it sounds like this was a plan B kid. Coaches probably told him they love his tape, think he would look good in orange and green and that they would be in touch with him. Kid thinks this is an offer and "announces" he is a UM commit. Coaches scramble to contact him and say this is a tight class for us with only a few spots for WR and we aren't sure if we will have room for him and that he didn't have a commitable offer yet. Kid has to come out and "decommit" because he never really had a spot. Maybe he will come back on board if something falls through, but lets hope we get the top choices here.

doing that gets you called a "Mope" around these parts.
I mean dudes were starving for something so bad after the Coker and Randy years that they've fed into the Golden thing, but me.......i'm a fan of UM, The canes PROGRAM. When i see f'ups i call it like i see it...and thats even when Randy was hc, who was a african american from my Liberty City neighborhood and who i shoud of been a homer to i called out his ****ery from the JUMP.

Golden's a good to solid HC quality imo, but for him being more experienced in that spot he is really not that much different than Randy....he just speaks better and tickles the head honcho's better. Dude still has subpar coaching hires in his camp ala randy....and a bunch of blunders in recruiting along with good wins in battle.
I'm at the point where this year is it....i gave Golden the pass for the previous years..but the excuses, the cloud, that b.s. has to stop now.

they have done this every recruiting class, that stinks of miscommunication and not knowing whats going on in the situation. No possible way akid can just said im committing to a school, without some sort of inclination of "interest" or "verbal.
Just call it how u see it man

Its different when you "drop" a kid....later on where needs may apply or you win a mnc and some big dogs want in.....but we didnt even "drop" kid in this situation, kid didnt even have a **** offer and was committed.
Turner had an offer, they play Alin Edoard last yr also...major miscommunication there. I'm not objective when it comes to this any more ...because it happens EVERY recruiting class..guys "unsure" of offers.

I'm a guy that doesnt have problems with "dropping" kids if its done in a timely fashion and communicated to them that way.....i aint a fan of the....not calling for three to four months and hoping they get the picture approach.

The problem with this theory is that even if you are fed up with Al, we still gotta root for him because he is apart of the program. God knows I want this guy to succeed. If we fail, its another wasted year. And we fans might only give him one more year before we jump off the bandwagon, but the shotcallers I think are giving him two more if you ask me.

I actually think this whole situation is getting blown out of proportion at this point. The kid seemed like he was cool with it. Didnt have any hard feelings. So why should we? Whatever happens behind the scenes in situations like this, the coaches must do it with alot of class. Dont remember any recruit we dropped ever saying anything bad about the way Al handled the situation. (Travis Johnson, dennis turner, Alin, Brandon Holifield, this guy, etc)

I mean when FSU, Bama, Auburn, UF, USC, LSU and other programs do this in December and January to get better players its not a big deal for them but yet its a big deal 10 months before NSD if we do this? I just cant get the **** logic especially when not only does this happen every year at schools all over but when we do it its the early part of the recruiting year and sometimes done before the kids are even Seniors. Smh it makes no sense why this is a problem

my yute we didnt even drop him....he didnt even have an offer there likes the problem FOR ME.

Dropping aint an issue for me.....i was all in on the drops last yr and the yr before.

But heres the thing what was it for? Was he offered at te but wanted to play wr and the communication on his part was wrong? Did we say he was offered but they didnt say that it was to keep track of the #s to see if he was a take later? Idk anything right now but he didnt seem to have hard feelings and that showed me that MAYBE it was just miscommunication and he understood. Now what I would love to happen is for Nash or somebody to get an interview where they say what truly happened but as far as the "offer" is concerned its always relative to be rescinded and until the University sends the letter imo it's always just an "interest agreement" where we like what we see and want to keep track of you. Either way I dont want good posters like you to say that this or that happened when we dk and then later find out that this whole thread was bs talk where everybody was wrong and we all look stupid
