Treon

Lol at dude liking rosier over treon... Have u watched a whole game of rosier? Treon is a baller at qb but don't sit here and act like u I seen rosier enough to know he's better ... Saying that I still don't want him as a qb

His arm looks like crap.

He actually is playing safety in the army game. Tfwiw but some posters on itu are saying they are hearing he might be changing his mind about going to fsu and may have interest in miami but want's a shot at qb before switching to wr or db. Maybe all them teamates going to miami getting to him.

So why doesn't he back out of this game if he isn't playing QB? He obviously is backing out of UM for that same reason. Sounds like BS to me.
Great logic here.

I swear some of you guys hate him for no reason. Treon has said multiple times that he is open to a different position, he just wants a shot to prove himself at QB. He has said that he was training his DB skills with his brother in the summer. I mean we are telling Torrance Gibson that he could play QB here and the only thing he has on Treon is Size and a bigger arm(but his arm is bigger than most QBs).

anquan boldin 2.0.

I laughed.

Indeed. I believe it was day two of the start of summer camp when Anquan Boldin was moved from QB to WR. I think Treon lasts until week two before following suit.

Boldin wanted to come to UM as a QB but UM told him like it was. FSU lied like always and promised him QB so he went with FSU and we see what happened. Boldin missed out on a opportunity to win a NC. Wold have been nice to have him opposite of Johnson.

After watching Malik Rosier highlights I am still on the fence as to why we cut Alin Edourd loose for Rosier just based on the on field performances and highlights thus far in 2013, here are there highlights. But I trust in the staff's evaulation.

I'm not sold on Rosier either, but I am sold on Coley's judgment so far. As for Harris, he is 5'11" I think. When was the last time Miami or FSU had a qb under 6'1", if that short? I actually think Harris is a good qb, but not for either school. He can be Russell or Drew all he wants but school have prototypes they look for at QB. FSU likes even bigger QBs than Miami. Leopards do not change spots, they always have lied to recruits and still do. They have always been nasty to players-- Bobby took the scholarship from kid that kicked the 1st wide right. We all saw the "your my boy now" treatment that BTW LB got last year. I hope the kid goes someplace that actually intends to let him play QB, not Wide Right.

I have to say maybe there is more going on here. Cant see that it would be that big a deal for Coley and AG to offer him as an ATH, but tell him they will give him a shot at QB to see how he does. Maybe they are afraid of chasing off Kaaya if Treon is running around saying he is committed to playing QB here? The other thing I wonder about, is Ice Harris and the complicated relationship we have with BTW and the Harris clan. Maybe AG feels its too much of a risk, if Treon ends up feeling like he didnt get enough of a fair shake at QB, or we end up with a QB controversy, that the potential trouble with Ice Harris and at BTW is not worth the headache.

Im not sayin Treon is that kind of kid to deliberately start sh*t, but he's a local kid, tight with a LOT of the guys we have coming in. We COULD theoretically end up with one of those QB controversies, which ends up becoming a proxy fight, where all the local kids are feeling like Treon should be the QB, while others dont, and you end up with a divided locker room. Remember the Ryan Collins mess. There was a bit of that with Jacory too when Marve was struggling.

I just think there is more going on here than just saying "look we will let you have a shot at QB, and if it doesnt work out, we want you at DB". Because after all, what do we lose there? As long as we are honest with him, and he's ok with moving if he cant make it at QB, we still gain a great athlete. And if he DOES break through at QB, then we have a great weapon at QB.

Wasnt Brock Berlin like 5'11?

Bobby might of lied but Dumbo hasn't lied to either James Wilder or the Franklin kid, he is still at QB.

You take him as a QB, and give him his chance. Why not? Evaluations aren't infallible. Plenty of 2 star kids have come in and beat out 5-star kids.

Let him compete. If he shines, everyone is happy. If he isn't doing as well as the other QB's on the roster, you sit him down and ask him if he wants to continue as the scout team QB or switch positions and play for championships?

Worst thing that happens is you end up with a redshirt freshman WR after a year that's got a year of UTough under his belt and knows the offense really well.

C4L,
Swagger presented an interesting theory that coinsides with what you're saying. Swagger's thought was that the coaching staff doesnt want another Collins-Costa issue here. Can you imagine the natives getting restless if Kaaya and/or Olson struggle and Treon comes in during mop up time and tosses a pretty pass? You guys might be onto something here.

Yep. And imagine a Collins/Costa issue with Ice Harris running his mouth, and it stirring up a bunch of sh8t with local coaches, etc. Could be poison in the locker room too, as we will have a decent number of guys from BTW, not to mention all the SoFla guys, who Treon is very popular with.

My guess is this is the real issue. As many have already said here, we would really lose nothing by letting the kid see how he does at QB, and then move him if/when he cant hack it. But he is definitely not Coley's type of QB. Kid can barely see over his OL now, what's he going to do when the OL is 3-4 inches taller?

Basically. I'll also add that he can play QB in college despite people not thinking so. Maybe not at Miami, but he'd do well at a place like NC St. or Arizona.

He's said before he'd be willing to switch to other positions later, he just wants a shot at QB first...he's not all-in on being a QB for good. If I'm Miami I give him that chance. Wish Meyer would have done the same with Denard...we saw how that worked out.

Dammit mane, I agree with Paranos. Edouard looks to have a much higher ceiling than Rosier.

Who said I hate him? You need to work on your reading comprehension. Kid is a hypocrit. Even the game organizers are in agreement about him playing QB at a higher level.

I just wanted to know why he isn't skipping the game for the same reasons he is skipping out on UM?
