Miami Booker T. Washington High School QB Treon Harris has wrapped up his official visit to Miami.
And while his older brother / Booker T. coordinator Tim Harris Jr. says the soft FSU commitment won't be doing any interviews, the older Harris also says the Canes have put themselves in the game to land his signature on Wednesday.
"There's definitely a chance (he signs with Miami)," Tim Harris Jr. said. "Treon had the opportunity to visit some other schools, but he chose Miami as that fourth visit. He could have gone to Ole Miss, Arizona, which runs perfect style offense for his skill set. But he went to Miami."
Tim adds that Miami "has Ryan Williams, who is experienced, and after that everybody else would be on the same level as him coming into college."
Harris says his understanding is Treon's Miami visit "went well. They had a chance to go over the offense with coach (James) Coley, they sat him down and showed him some certain things they want him to do.
"There are things coach Coley wants to do with a guy like him and he wanted to show him on tape the offense and get him used to the terminology."
Harris adds that "If Treon makes the decision to go there it would be a one-back deal - they can do a lot of it from a one back system with four receivers or three and a tight end and be able to use the quarterback as a read in the run game, which they weren't able to do last year with (Stephen) Morris. Treon brings that other dimensions."
Did Coley's ideas intrigue Treon?
"Yeah, definitely," Harris said.
Tim Jr. also says Treon hasn't completely ruled out Auburn or Florida.
The plan is for Treon to inform the college of his choice on Tuesday and then announce the decision to the world on Wednesday.
"The closer he's getting to decision time you can tell the pressure's starting to build," Tim Jr. said.
So does Harris have a prediction for where his brother lands?
"I don't know, man, it's tough," Harris said "You get caught with what you want and what it may be. I'm not sure."
He adds that "Wherever he decides to go we support him, are behind him 100 percent."
* Harris also said that Demetrius Jackson and Chad Thomas are solid to Miami and will sign with the Canes on Wednesday. Jackson canceled a planned visit to Texas this weekend and Thomas is on his way home from a trip to Alabama.
