Treon Harris to Transfer (Not Surprised)

You guys layoff Treon. He didn't receive any bad advice. All the kid wanted was a chance to play quarterback. In fact, the kid said if quarterback didn't work out he didn't mind moving to wide receiver or defensive back. Golden would not give him that opportunity. Jimbo Fisher promised him that opportunity and he committed to Florida State. He then committed to Florida after they hired a new offensive coordinator. The kid got a chance play quarterback. ****, he can even say he won some big games as quarterback. He beat Georgia. So, it hasn't been a failure. But he should be at Miami.

Dude, what are you talking about, but 99% of the kids want a shot at the NFL and some real $$$. The was NEVER going to happen as a QB. He should have switched in HS to DB or WR. If he was totally insistent on being a QB, then a school smaller school and tried to ball out. Now he is having to Learning a new position as a JR. He'll never sniff the NFL. It's a shame.

It is not a shame. The kid got to live out his dreams. Not yours. His dreams. It doesn't matter what you think.

You're right, it doesn't matter what we think, but it doesn't mean folks were wrong. I get it, you have to take a chance and take what you want in life, but with video, consistent history, and realism setting in, a kid should always choose the most rational path UNLESS he can honestly say to himself he is COMPLETELY content with not making it if it later doesn't work and he has to deal with everything in a very public manner. Those who can, should make that gamble. Everyone else should play the position that fits them an be prepared to work a 9-5 like the rest of us if they can't sniff the field after year 2.

Again it does not matter what you think. Treon is a good kid. I talk to him often. He does not regret his decision to go to Florida. They gave him a chance to play quarterback. Yes, he would have loved to attend Miami. Golden would not give him a try out at quarterback. He can forever say that he won a big game as a college QB, which most college quarterbacks cannot say. Now he's going to play another position. Position changes happens every year in college football. Hundreds of players change positions. This is not a big deal. If the kid wasn't happy with his decision to be at Florida, he would have transferred, but he did not transfer because he doesn't have a problem with his decision

Respect you cold beer but the name of the game is NFL..... No way he gonna get serious PT at WR at FLorida... HE wouldve heightned his chances of making the NFL with 4 years at another position instead of 2... He might not regret it now but in 10 years when he's coaching somewhere instead of playing hes gonna look back and say what if.... You gotta follow your heart but man sometimes you gotta listen to people smarter then you..his size is what hindered him to me ...Wish him luck though

Kid could have been playing CB here...he got some bad advice

I thought he was the one dead set on being a QB, i dont recall hearing anything about his family having any control over that decision.

Come on man. The kid had zero chance of succeeding at QB at college or the pro's. Everybody in the whole country knew that. He comes from a BIGTIME football family. That was terrible preparation and guidance. He is lucky they haven't sent him packing. Most likely the only reason they haven't is because they don't want to **** off Booker T, the family and the rest of S. FLorida. At this point, Treon is a wasted schoolie as he his trying to learn a new position as a JUNIOR in college.

naw he kinda made that decision....remember now treon didnt live with ice...they advised him but from what i see he is a kid that moves to his own beat..his other two elder bros never even got in trouble,

UF has made so many mistakes in the last few years when it comes to Qbs, and especially wrs. Tebow and Denard Robinson were never considered to be nfl qbs, but were **** good college qbs.

Funny how how half the board blasted our staff at the time for not offering him as a qb.. Even that clown show knew this kid could couldnt play qb

Stop making this about you. The kid is traveling HIS PATH. Every college player is not enamored with the NFL. Treon wanted a shot to play QB. He got it....and won some big games as a QB. Be happy for the kid. He could have been at Miami. Golden f*cked it up. All he had to do was give the kid a tryout at QB and move him if he did impress. That is all Jimbo was gonna do. PLus, Treon said at the time he could play another position.

Quincy Wilson (legacy) wanted a shot a CB. Golden said no....only Safety. Quincy is a starting CB for UF. Another Golden F*ck Up. We should have both. Quincy at CB or Safety and TH at WR or CB.

Quinton Dunbar (BTW) did not a play a lick of Defense at UF. Yet, he plays CB for the Washington Redskins. Treon has two years of eligibility left to play his new position, which is more than Dunbar had. You never know what can happen. Plus, TH still has a RS to use, if needed.

If every player's goal was the NFL, there'd be no option QBs in college football.

This kid was a starting QB at a major football program in the toughest conference and you think he made a bad decision to accomplish that much?? Jesus this board is full of posters who obviously never accomplished anything in sports or life. The NFL has been littered over the years with players who have played positions in the NFL that they either didn't play in college or switched to later in their college careers. He will at least attend a camp as an UFA.

What does ur response have to do with my post?? I simply said Treon wanted to play QB and his family just supported him but they had no say in his decision.

?? And how is moving to a new position as a junior a wasted schollie?? Do u know anything about college football?
