And, why did Trent Dilfer when a Superbowl with one stud TE and not a ton of O power beyond that? Because the Ray Lewis led D was soul crushing!

Look, I'm not predicting a Playoff birth this year, HOWEVER, nothing is impossible. And, if our D and specifically DL improve like it appears it will, anything is possible. Our front 7 is set and if we get enough production out of our secondary and get a QB who manages the game and occasionally makes a clutch play...next year could be very VERY interesting.

Raise a glass to having a light absorbing, soul crushing, Chthulu-style defense!!!

I understand what you're getting at, especially as a Ravens fan myself, but what you're saying doesn't apply to College football.

That 2000 Ravens squad had literally the GREATEST Defense in the history of the NFL, they didn't allow a 100yd rusher for **** near the whole season...

Their philosophy was simple, our Offense is so bad that we just won't let the other score, all we need is 10 points & we win.

They had a stout run Defense & front 7 with Sam Adams, Tony Siragusa, Rob Burnett, Jamie Shaper, Peter Boulware & Ray Lewis.
Plus, Rod Woodson on the back end with Chris McCalister & Duane Starks... They shut down every **** team they played & just completely brutalized you for 60 minutes of football.

On Offense, all they needed was a serviceable QB because Tony Banks was so **** terrible, all Dilfer had to do was not turn the ball over.
We had Shannon Sharpe coming from Denver, Jemaine Lewis who was a great Return specialist, Brandon Stokely who was the original White slot WR before Welker lol & rookie Jamal Lewis pounding the rock 25-30 times a game... Plus, one of the 3 best OT's in NFL history in Jonathan Ogden.

It it was a different game back then, all the rules weren't slanted in the Offenses favor & were allowed to be way more physical than they are now.

That formula doesn't work in College because it's a completely different game.

The key in college is all about the OL, QB, RB & DL... You wanna make the playoffs or win a chip, you better have a line with some 4-star Tackles on it, a high caliber QB, a great RB/(Run game in general) & a terrific DL to cause immense pressure against other teams good QB's.

Basically, you just need a team with 3-4 loaded recruiting classes of high caliber athletes... We're not there yet, but we're getting close.

We have a great Defense under El Jefe, we have one of the best DL's in the nation & imo a top 3 LB Corp...
Our Secondary isn't their yet, but should be by 2018...

For Offense, I think Perry will be a great QB, I think our run game is strong enough and will get stronger by 2018, I think we have a great WR corp now & all we need is more reinforcements on the OL and we'll be in position to take the ACC... Just not right now.

This comment makes you a genius. It's literally as simple as that.
