The problem with this team over the last few years can’t be overstated enough.
Zion Nelson is going to get his family right for at least 2 generations in 4 years.
But he isn’t starting in any of the playoff teams.
The lack of elite trench players is the last piece of this puzzle.
We’re trying to coach around 2 glaring deficiencies that are at the base of how far you can go and what you can do as a team.
Recruiting elite trench dudes has plagued this team for too long.
Look at what happens when we get just one Gerald Willis.
We have to compete with teams that recruit 3-4 players like that each year on both lines and keep them for 4 years.
We would punish people with a Wisconsin type oline and enos.
Look at what jdub and the rb’s are doing with low rated underclassmen.
We also have to fix this leaving early sht for the 5th or 6th round.
Alex leatherwood is a **** senior at bama.
We couldn’t keep Macintosh and Norton for 4 years.
The playoff teams are playing with elite trench bullies that stay and become grown *** men.
Look at Patchan as an example. Has anyone stood next to that man? Dude has an nfl body right now.
He’s tossing boys around out there.
Manny was right when he said just wait till these guys are juniors when talking about the oline.
But We As fans have hurricane blue balls and always think we’re a step closer to that playoff nut.
But it ain’t happening unless we recruit those type of guys and have some sort of plan to insure they don’t leave early.

OP is mostly on point. Anyone with an ounce of Gridiron knowledge understands you build teams "inside-out." You start with the line of scrimmage then you get a QB, ect; The "SEC" is called a line of scrimmage league. Clemson is a line of scrimmage team. When we were dominating, the U was a line of scrimmage team.

I never get overly hyped about the RB's, WR's, DB's, because without the "Big-Uglies," "Trench-Bullies" everything else is smoke and mirrors.

If we have an elite o-line then we would decimate all teams besides Clemson!!We was close to being undefeated and 3-0 but instead lost 2 mostly because of the o-line and penalties!!!

Elite trench play allows you to be a consistent team. That’s why bama never drops stupid games to random garbage teams. But big 12 teams who are good will lose to a random garbage school. Bullies will bully every time. Quarterbacks can sometimes have off days

Alabama did drop games against garbage teams early on. saban has recruited at an elite level and has gotten to the point where, even w bad showings, they're going to out talent you.

When we had Stoutland we recruited elite OL. That wasn’t so long ago.

Kehoe was pure trash. Remains to be seen about Searles recruits. And the new guy.

Being elite in the trenches starts with having elite coaches.

OL on any team not fixed overnight. So far I like the potential I have seen so far. Horrible first game. Improvement 2nd game. Can not really judge 3rd game due to caliber of opponent

I like the way you think. Maybe express those thoughts in paragraphs, but you're definitely thinking correctly.
