Yes, I like it and he is a peddler or a purveyor of excuses.

What the **** is this nonsense? We are 6-5 with two victories against tomato cans. We can easily finish 6-7, easily. Truth is i hope we don't even play in a bowl game. Just end the season in Bahstin.
 
My original post was about the dramatic year over year improvement. If you don’t agree with it that’s fine. But the team has basically been competitive in every game, they’ve fought hard and the talent level has improved dramatically. People forget the complete lack of talent we’ve had- less draft picks than Syracuse and Wake Forrest the past few years. Fortunately that looks likely to change.

In many ways this looks somewhat similar to what Georgia and FSU recently went through. Georgias situation was a lot better because Kirby inherited a team that was coming off back to back 10 win teams and had Nick Chubb, Rouquan Smith, Isaiah Wynn, Lorenzo Carter and Sony Michel among others but he had a rough first year 7-5 regular season but by and large they were in most games with only a few blowouts. Year 2 his system and recruiting kicked in and they started winning the close games.

We all saw Norvells first few years 3-6 and 5-7. Year 3 they won a lot of close games.

I’m expecting with our young talent getting a year older, the tremendous influx of skill talent we’re bringing in- Jojo, Carr, Riley and Lofton, plus some key portal additions at QB and DT that we start winning the close games.

Also I’d like a little help spacing the schedule out better and not having 8 straight conference games.

It’s hard to compare because Mario has complete backing by the program financially and with NIL. Mario has a corporation and Manny was a mom and pops. All things equal we’ve gotten less for more so far with Mario.

no argument here ... but wouldn't speak more to the coming years per se, manny inherited a pretty nice team based on richt recruiting, that level of recruiting declined when manny arrived ... mario comes in with more the full support of the university and while we haven't seen the wins, you have to admit the mental makeup of the program has changed ... better question is, how would you fix it?

with the circumstances of how a number of our losses have been self-inflicted, it gives hope that we're moving in the right direction. We beat A&M and Clemson, we took FSU and a good Louisville team to the wire with ups and downs in between


if we have 4-5 losses next year at this time then I'm 100% with you, but this was never projected to be a "win the ACC" type of year and if you got your own hopes up due to the early success then you did it to yourself

Hire competent guys and let them run their offense / defense. Not adding to their running games things you and your Ol coach like. Let them have control over that and you do what you do well. Over see the program , create the culture and recruit like a dog. Being a control freak doesn’t necessarily mean you’re a good coach. Hire smarter guys than yourself and let them coach.

Mario is obviously trying to build a team from scratch that will take time. More time than most of us are willing to put up with. I’m sure he is aware of all the negative posters some spewing hate for the man. The shoulda woulda coulda comes in to play hugely at the U. I have the sense that the coaches go in to the game surprised if they get the win Due to their assessment of the talent we are putting on the field. It’s like we are just going through the motions till Mario gets his swagger talent roster. thing is with NIL the nfl and the portal it appears it’s going to be a constant turn style of players coming and going.
we need a proven dual threat qb. If that doesn’t help the situation which I firmly believe will then I’m afraid Mario is not the answer. This off season is crucial for mario and Alonzo and all our super advisors and talent evaluators to bring in a team that can win.
