Tre' McKitty possible flip?

The same reason we are giving OL and DBs a reason for coming here (instant playing time) is the same thing im sure FSU is selling McKitty.

"Hey Tre, I know Miami is TE U and all and we dont debate that...but they already have Herndon, Playmaker's boy, and some kid named Haskins who looks legit on the roster...we got Izzo and thats it..you will be getting starters minutes next year.."

Doesnt sound like a tough choice esp considering its FSU. I hope im wrong.

Hard to disagree with any of this.

But instant playing time sometimes is instant because they don't develop that position and they NEVER develop tight ends

Do you really believe Hartley is a better coach than Brewster (who also happens to be national recruiter of the year & a former D1 HC)? Guys like Njoku develop themselves. It's pretty easy to see the appeal here. All these down years Miami has still been sending guys to the league.. It's not due to development, it's raw talent.

Every athlete believes they're the next best thing coming; therefore, they'll take their chances. FSU has a very strong history of not developing TE's. Hope he does his homework.

So what's been the multiple decade excuse for their lack of production at the position and what was the reason for all of these years of star tight ends and future pro bowlers before this 1 year with Hartley? If you think kiss just walk in and become starswithout good coaching yyou're out of your **** mind

Going by that logic, who has Brewster recruited or developed that has panned out since he's been at FSU?

Yeah.....we can't be hypocrites in how we sell lack of depth at OL, CB, and WR then not say the opposite about TE.

Having said that, I still want McKitty.

Not sure if Hartley's a great coach at developing talent. We don't know.

Having said that, Brewster's value is in his recruiting. Again, what has the TE position done during his tenure there? Which mind you has spanned 5-6 years.

I don't know what lack of production from decades ago have to do with anything. So recruits not wanting to play DT for No'D are wrong bc of the greats like Russell Maryland? That is the dumbest logic I've ever heard. I agree Miami TE's have out produced Jimbo's since he's been at FSU. That's your only argument, which is valid (despite FSU having 1 Mackey Award winner to Miami's none). We've had the worst coaching in our programs history the past 15 years & still are pumping out NFL TE's like crazy. IMO, that's due to skill, not coaching.

He's had one Mackey Award winner since he arrived in 2013. Spin it how you want, but that's his pitch.. There's also the 5 seasons as an NFL TE coach & 20+ years of D1-NFL TE coaching experience.

*Brewster was the tight ends coach for the San Diego Chargers from 2002-04 and the Denver Broncos from 2005-06 after coaching that same position at North Carolina from 1989-97 and Texas from 1998-2001. Brewster coached All-Pro tight end Antonio Gates while with the Chargers and saw six tight ends sign NFL contracts during his UNC and Texas tenures.

What? FSU being one of the best all time programs never produce great tight ends yet my logic isthe program never produces start tight ends but UM produces pro bowler after pro bowler and my logic makes no sense? Now let's say your example makes senae which it doesn't but why doesn't Bama, OSU, Oklahoma, LSU, USC, Michigan, Auburn, UGA etc who all are at the top of recruiting classes yearly almost never make tight ends even though they get top talent? You're essentially saying we get super tight ends who are better then opposing coaching staffs and opposing players because they're that **** good which is idiotic. Not saying Hartley is great I have no idea I'm just saying when a program has a new star at a position every 3 years its the school constantly finds coaches who can find and help develop them

You guys place logical thinking of a mature adult over the whims of a recruit? All the stuff about academics, putting pros in the league, etc., is window dressing. Kids are hoodwinked by staffs all the time. things like relationship with the staff, comfort level with campus, parents' comfort level, winning program, etc. are all things that put teams like fsu over the top.
