Following a standout week in wins over Wake Forest and Georgia Tech, Miami men’s basketball guard Tre Donaldson was named the ACC Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Donaldson led the Hurricanes in scoring in both contests, averaging 24.0 points to go along with a team-high 16 assists and three steals. The Tallahassee, Florida, native shot 65.2 percent from the floor (15-of-23) and was near perfect from the line, converting 14 of 15 attempts.

Tre has been even better that I expected. At Michigan he was pretty quiet until late in the game when he was an assassin. Lately his engagement has started early in games and remained high. I can only assume Lucas told him we need you for all 40 minutes.

He*l, Tre was so good on Saturday that even Damon Stoudamire was giving him props when he checked back into the game in the 2nd half. And Stoudamire knows great PG play when he sees it, what with being the #1 pick in the draft and all.
