Trayone Chocolate Gray- Carol City Cane verbal commit.

would be great for us if they start turning into a powerhouse again. Their players are always solid for us.
 
I don't care what the star rankings are this kid has "IT".....he got the goods for sure...

I hope he gets in...would love to see what he could do at QB...but he will be a **** of a wr

Was Howard at Carol City before Miramar?

naw he was at miramar all 4 years...but he is from carol city.

Carol City is adjacent to Miramar and some kids actually live closer to miramar than carol city high.

I think CC is on their way back..our former wr coach Aubrey Hill just took over...if they can keep some of their kids from the optomist clubs to not getting snatched up by Norland,Miramar(bunch of kids), Central (Dalvin Cook) they'll do things.

naw he was at miramar all 4 years...but he is from carol city.

Carol City is adjacent to Miramar and some kids actually live closer to miramar than carol city high.

I think CC is on their way back..our former wr coach Aubrey Hill just took over...if they can keep some of their kids from the optomist clubs to not getting snatched up by Norland,Miramar(bunch of kids), Central (Dalvin Cook) they'll do things.

I feel Hill will be pushing kids to UF.He's a Gator.
 
@joshdarrow: Spent some time with Aubrey Hill today at Carol City. @CanesFam listen up. Hill said Trayon Gray will be playing on Sunday's. WR or Safety.
 
Update today from Rivals:
Canes Commit Not 100% Yet
-Gray calls Canes his dream school but only considers himself 80% committed
-On why he's not fully committed: "some want me as a quarterback and others as an athlete. I want to play quarterback."
-Says depth chart and playing time will be a factor if he decides to open it back up
-Miami wants him as a receiver. He appears comfortable with that for now. Likes the staff and his family likes him being close to home
-Alabama is checking in on him at WR and he still receives interest from USF
-Will play mostly quarterback this year
-Not sure if he'll take visits in the fall

This kid will not get a big time offer to play QB like Treon Harris has from fsu. Harris has proven that he can play QB for yeasr, while this will be Gray's 1st year starting at QB. This kid will more than likely stick with the canes & be converted to a safety when he sees the depth chart after fall champ.

Not overly relevant to your thread but for some reason it brought about a memory of my 145 pound Optimist season. We went into Carol City and spanked their asses. When we got on the bus to leave, all of the locals lined the road and rocked our bus. They threw all sorts of stuff at us. I remember our coach screaming, "Put your helmets on and get down in the seats!!!" Of course, being the 14 year old moran I was, I sat up and looked out the window just long enough to see a 40-something woman (presumably a parent of a CC kid) throwing a coke bottle right at me. It shattered the window of the row behind me.

Ah, the good old daze. :quag:



Moral of the story: Yes, they do take football seriously in Carol City.

Im not worried because of the fact that he's pretty new to the qb position. He's just like hundreds of other recruits whjo are so athletic that they can play multiple positions but are stuck on one....... until reality slaps them in the face

Yeah he is. And he was part of the NCAA problem. Get a Cane in there. Let him go coach up state.
 
Hill is much closer to the current Miami staff than Florida's where he clashed and was fired just before the season.

Don't think he is the type to push anywhere but the idea it would be UF is false.
