And people thought he could get into Miami?? This kid still has work to get into LSU, which is 2 steps above Marshall, and 1 above West Virginia.
Contrary to all the bs people spew on message boards, LSU plays by the same set of admission rules we do. If he can get into LSU, he could be admitted here.
Absolutely not true. He still needed additional work to get into Miami.
"The newspaper in New Orleans (http://www.nola.com/recruiting/index.ssf/2013/10/florida_defensive_tackletravon.html#incart_river) mentions that he can't qualify at Miami without it but that LSU only requires 1 foreign language credit." in reference to having to take additional foreign language.

You're missing the point. The NCAA sets the admission standards for any incoming student athlete and it is the same across the board for every school in D1. We have made exceptions in the past and certainly would've for a foreign language class I'd imagine. When a kid is recruited, we know their academic standing from the word go. It would be disingenuous to say the least if we knew we wouldn't let him in due to one credit he didn't have time to make up, but he'd be good to go elsewhere.
We'll see what happens, but if he can get in there, he could've gotten in here.

The other difference is that LSU counts urban slang as a foreign language.
