Okay, RLIII is transfering. Who is next? Tyler Odems (So); G. Crow (RFr); and D. Jones (So)?

Maybe not next...but future transfer possibility might be Gus. If we sign all 3 of our top rb commits, he could get passed up and switched to fullback. If he's not willing to accept it, he might throw the deuce.

LOL Odems. Why the F would you single this kid out, who isn't even on a scholarship?

Plenty of JAGs on this team (I would say 3+ years is fair to consider them a JAG):

1. Jelani Hamilton
2. Earl Moore
3. Corey King
4. Hunter Wells
5. Gray Crow
6. Jake O'Donnell
7. D'Mauri Jones

All these players have not done much on the field. 3 of them are JAGs at our weakest position (DT). The worst part is Golden is redshirting Hamilton and Moore which means they can spend another year here potentially.

DEEEHHHHH BEEEGGGGGGGGGG FINNNNTTTTTTTTT

Out of all the people on that list..I still have hopes for Earl "No Neck" Moore. He really should have redshirted in the beginning but he was forced into action. But he is at the "put up or get the call to the coaches office" point in his career. If he cant crack the two deep by spring ball I think we dont see him come Fall.

Hamilton is just trying to get his degree. Prob has really given up hope in regards to football. Fair enough.

Cant kick a kid like D'Mauri Jones to the curb. Seems like he still works hard, is engaged with the team, and wants to be here. Plus you never know when you might need him to step up. Let him live, Con.

Has somebody heard how good Brown is or exactly what position he will be playing? He he is not a nt I don't see him playing at OL . You can add some more WRs to this list next year. At first I thought Gus was a bust but since Took over he runs like a big back and we need that

If any JAG's transfer, Golden will have no problem signing another JAG to fill their spot. Wait, half of our 15' class look like JAG's..........

For Hamilton, put him on the PUP and move on then. Free up the ship, he can finish the degree.

For Jones, he is a 2012 kid. If he doesn't show promise this spring, I don't see how he gets involved in the offense in 2015. We're getting younger kids who are taller WRs like him (Gossier and Chatman) in addition we have Langham. We're only losing Dorsett (speed guy) so it's not like his playing time is just going to free up and be replaced by Jones. A kid like Waters is hardly getting enough balls and he is much better than Jones.

For Moore, I don't see any potential. We've seen 2 freshman (Jenkins and Moton) already pass him on the depth chart and we're only losing Pierre. I don't see the need to keep him if he can't contribute and his redshirting (not b/c of injury) in his 3rd season at Miami.

The fact that their redshurting Hamilton and Moore means they see something in those two and their staying. Moore actually logged a lot of time in the spring. I'm not giving up on jelani yet, he has some skills that can be used as a strong end or Olsen Pierre's role, at worse he is a rotation guy. Seems like a kid that is just not a practice player. Moore has limitations as a nose tackle but he has experience and has logged minutes there for us so red shirting and having next year along with Wyche, heurtolu ain't bad cause at worse it allows is to redshirt an incoming freshman dt

Actually that is not definitive. It COULD be a reason but that doesn't mean it is the reason.

The issue is logic would dictate the opposite (i.e. the players are not good). Freshman aren't supposed to be expected to come in and play DT (sure some do). Jenkins and Moton are freshman and they're playing as true freshman. Moore and Hamilton are in their 3rd years, neither is on a medical redshirt and both can technically play. Logic would dictate that you would redshirt the younger kids and play the older ones. The younger kids tend not to be ready (understand the system and physically in shape) and are better candidates to redshirt. Not only did Jenkins and Moton play over Hamilton and Moore, Wyche who is in terrible shape was playing over them as well.

The other issue is how much credibility does Al get in the DT department (at judging talent). Here are some of the DTs he has brought into the program (first 3 years):

2011: Corey King, Darius Smith and Olsen Pierre
2012: Jacoby Briscoe, Dequan Ivery, Jelani Hamilton and Earl Moore
2013: Ufomba Kamalu

25% have left the program without doing anything (Briscoe and Ivery)
50% have done nothing or were JAGs (King, Smith, Hamilton and Moore)
25% are quality or have potential (Kamalu and Pierre)
----------------------------------
25% is not very credible. I don't give this man a lot of credit at UM due to his numbers above.

The 2014 class has already passed up King, Hamilton and Moore. IMO, they all got to go.

I always appreciate your insight, Geta. I hope you're right on Jelani Hamilton but Ive seen nothing to date that leads me to believe he will ever be a solid contributor here. Bottom line is that we need a lot of help at D tackle and as of right now, Im not even seeing anyone on the recruiting horizon who is close to committing. Certainly not anyone who can come in and help right away.

At this point, we don't want/need guys transferring this offseason. As of now, we'll be at 61 scholarships after the seniors graduate and assuming Duke goes pro. We will sign a full class of 25 guys to bring us to 86, and we cannot enroll any more than that number. We are allowed to have 84 next year (NCAA sanction), so we only need 2 more guys to transfer to get to the right number (or Flowers goes pro early and one guy transfers).

Agree with you, they should've redshirted to begin with so we are just catching up on things and letting them develop.

D'Mauri's blocking from the slot WR position had me like this....
