Transfer Portal watch

Lol y'all told me JB was on commit watch since like last yr when Mario first arrived. Dude gonna be a "silent" until NSD huh??
I remember it being mentioned more than once here that he & his pops especially seem to REALLY like the recruiting process so everything may be dragged out a bit

As I’ve said before. Make a play for Landers and the OL from Charlotte. Use the grad transfer market for a pass rusher.
You mean Dmitri Emmanuel?

He might be heading to FSU because Alex Atkins coached him when was OC/OL coach at Charlotte.

But a few other schools after him too, he was a good versatile OL at Charlotte, kid started at LT, RT & LG.

Yeah I’d like to see Emmanuel heading to CG over FSU if nothing more than their tears.

Oh, well if he has a RELATIONSHIP with ALEX ATKINS, it's over. Just like what happened with Amarius Mims...

You're right... I did read that about his pops. Didn't know he himself cared for it much.

Can ASU actually field a team? lol I feel like there's a way to profit off of all of this. What's their O/U win total?

We went hard after our transfer targets and didn’t land any of them (yet). JA is out there and now even Bama feels they’re in a good spot.
J Brown isn’t gonna get the ball thrown to by TVD cause if we have a good season he’s likely gone.
Hopefully we are able to give Garcia enough playing time for the 23 players to take notice.

Until NSD we aren’t going to know who is going to be coming.

I’m not saying that all that all hope is lost. Far from it actually.
We are in a very good position with the players we have to have a good season. But there has been a lot of hype about the portal receivers with no results while other schools have landed some really good receivers.

But Like I said, there is a strong possibility that the coaches feel really good with what we have and aren’t gonna go all in unless it’s some proven commodity that brings a skill set or body type that we don’t currently have in the team.
Yes, other schools have gotten good receivers from the portal. But we don't seem to be looking to just pick up any good WR to fill the room The staff seems to be looking for a limited, specific skillset to complete what we already have. That means only a handful of the good receivers in the portal match that. The issue is as much about the small pool of candidates that fit those needs as it is about "striking out".

What a dopey post.

Maybe KJ Osborn cost himself in the FANTASY draft, but in the NFL draft, they don't go strictly off of stats. He took his Buffalo skills and stats to Miami and did well with a P5 team. The NFL appreciated that. Otherwise, before that, he's just a guy who had one good year at a non-Power-5.
The reason he got drafted for the most part was the skill he showed in the return game at Miami.

If you're talking just about the translation between the return game and playing WR, I agree. But it's not like they drafted him to be a return specialist. He's returned 11 punts in 2 years and 14 kickoffs, which none were in 2021. So he's a WR who moonlights as an occasional returner.

Mike Harleys last two years were each better than KJ Osborns 1 year at Miami. He didn’t look like an NFL level wr at all at Miami. Multiple Dropped passes 10 yard average 5 TDs wasn’t impressive.. he was drafted bc of how he played at Buffalo.

Oh my ******* god. Again, you are citing FANTASY LEAGUE standards for statistics. "Oh, let's compare Mike Harley's stats to KJ Osborn's stats". That kind of stuff may fly with you and your Fantasy nerd friends, but it's not how NFL scouts and coaches operate.

The fact remains, KJ Osborn had one very good year at BUFFALO. The list of G5 one-year wonders is nearly as long as my ****. Regardless of the quality of KJ's overall team at Miami, he moved up to P5 and performed well, so he eliminated the question about "quality of competition".

Go google some more stats sheets and leave the rest of the discussion to the adults.

Majority of the competition he went up against at Miami wasn’t quality NFL talent. There wasn’t a single game KJ Osborn played in at Miami where he dominated or looked like one of the best players on the field… you’re living in make believe land bc he’s doing well for himself in the nfl. That’s bc of his own work ethic not bc of Miami.

You get decimated, then you dig the hole twice as deep.

"Majority of the competition he went up against at Miami wasn't quality NFL talent"? And it was at Buffalo? Regardless of you moving the goalposts 24-7, he played against BETTER competition at Miami than he did at Buffalo.

"Doing well for himself in the NFL...that's because of his own work ethic..." Again, you keep shifting the discussion. Sure, that explains why he is STILL in the NFL, but it doesn't explain his draft position.

Just stop. You are wrong.

He played against somewhat better competition at Miami and looked worse so how does that validate the argument that the NFL saw his performance from that year and concluded he’s an nfl draft pick bc of it??

He didn't "look worse", he simply didn't have the same stats at Miami (with a better overall WR corps) than he had at Buffalo (with a lesser WR corps).

If he "looked worse", the NFL wouldn't have drafted him.

Keep writing your Fantasy League nerd fan-fiction, though.
