Transfer Portal watch

This. We here on this board will find anything to complain about anyone. I mean I’m sure it’s every board but we are a pretty bit*hy group.

But I’ll hold on to my receipt on Rambo.

Absolutely. I supported and defended the Rambo take from Day 1.

Just took this from the 247 transfer portal profile about him

"The Oklahoma offense didn’t necessarily force Rambo to make contested catches outside the numbers because Sooners head coach Lincoln Riley does such a good job of scheming players to be wide open, but it should be noted that Pro Football Focus counted him with just one drop in 2019. In 2020, Rambo was credited with four drops. "

Edit* after reading more they said he excels in taking the top off of coverage, deep posts, and shallow crossers. Sounds like a Wiggins to me.

Five drops in 2 seasons. Wiggins and Pope can do that in one game.

2020:

Dee Wiggins-31 catches/358 yards/3 TD's
Rambo-25 catches/312 yards/3 TD's
Pope-32 catches/400 yards/2 TD's

And?

What about Wiggins and Pope having two of the highest drop percentages?

A guy can always get more catches and yards if you throw him the ball more. Unless he is dropping catches.

I am not saying he isn't better than Wiggins or Pope, I was just posting stats this year.

I knew it would get ya'll riled up. Solid addition.

Maybe you should post some, you know, actual analysis, instead of dropping context-less stats as if they are some big, nasty dump you're trying to leave on someone's lawn in the middle of the night.

My friend his a huge OU fan. He told me Rambo had drop issues and he and an #1 I hope he puts it all together

One drop in 2019, four drops in 2020.

Nowhere close to Pope/Wiggins.

"Drop issues". Let's give Pope & Wiggins to OU and watch OU fans' heads explode.

I would’ve taken the kid from Montana over Rambo
Why?

He chose NEBRASKA.

Watch his film and watch him catch with his hands. That’s something that translates, no matter what the level of competition is. We need dogs that can go make contested catches.

As far as I can tell, we didn’t offer him

So there are only 2 schools in the country that could have offered him?

Again, maybe he was #1 on the Miami board at one point, but others have entered the portal. If you are trying to build the argument why the Montana WR was a take over Rambo, I'm just pointing out that he doesn't seem to have a ton of other prospects, outside of the Midwest's biggest ongoing tire fire.

If there was a bidding war for the Montana kid, just let me know.

Miami cooled on him after evaluating

Yeah, I figured as much. It want from "offer me" to radio silence, and that was before some of the bigger names entered the portal.

But there's always a handful of Miami porsters who will choose to be contrarians, telling us tall tales about "the one that got away".

$ changes things. As the money grew, the loyalty programs had to their coaches changed, the loyalty coaches had to their program changed and now the loyalty players had to their program and teammates changed. Want a way to take heart out and replace with $? Just dump more $ into it. Look what happened to Hip Hop

I know it's been talked about for months, but immediate eligibility changes the whole game.

I'm glad we have mario, seen as potentially the best recruiting HC in the country, now that we essentially have a free agency every year
You would think if Mario is a wizard of recruiting he could easily be a tiger in the transfer portal😾

Yes please

If I had one choice for DC Mason would be mine. I wanted him after he was fired at Vandy
He'd absolutely kill it at Miami. He's a relentless worker. He's not a popular name here on CIS, but he'd be my #1 choice after seeing him up close and personal at Auburn. Super intense and detail oriented.

People here would hate Mason because his D isn't very aggressive and his DB's aren't press/up in your face. He's a good DC though.

We need another solid RB and if Briles is our OC, this guy would flourish in that system.

Lol how long did it take you to do this **** and what was the point?

Also my comment about him being "like a wiggins" was how we were going to use him in our system, NOT comparing player to player attributes. I was responding to a post where someone said they spoke to their OU friend after the commit and his comment was "better teach him to catch" I went and found stats that he dropped one in 2019 and 4 in 2020. My response was in FAVOR of Rambo and against the guy who said "better teach him to catch" if you took the time to read it. 5 drops in 2 years is **** good IMO. Go look at my other posts where I was excited we got him.

Then when I read more on him it said he takes the top off of coverage and excels at deep posts, and shallow crossers. That is exactly what he did here and exactly what Wiggins did/would be doing if he could catch and be physical at the point of attack. Wiggins is fast, big, and runs good routes. But he shrinks on contact and can't catch so the first three attributes become a nullity.

People here would hate Mason because his D isn't very aggressive and his DB's aren't press/up in your face. He's a good DC though.
Auburn was 38th in sack % at 7.77% (Miami was 53rd at 6.99%) and 14th in TFL per game with 7.2 (Miami was tied for 9th at 7.4)

Both defenses struggled to get turnovers this year in the 110s and I think we had 1 more interception than Auburn
