Losing Tommy Kinsler stings. I wonder who is going to play left tackle next year because if Kinsler stayed he could have played at guard and McCoy gets kicked out to tackle.

It doesn't matter why he's leaving. Maybe it's because he sucks, like you said. Maybe it's because we didn't think he was worth the investment. Maybe he wants a guaranteed starting spot.

Doesn't matter. Bottom line is that our 2-deep next year is going to be young and inexperienced with tons of unproven depth.

Our OL was a foundation of our CFP run. Not sure we can lean on the OL next year.

Or maybe the money after testing the market

UM added centers in the transfer portal each of the past three seasons, with Matt Lee in 2023, Zach Carpenter in 2024 and James Brockermeyer this season. But offensive line coach Alex Mirabal said that won’t be the case next season. “We’re staying inside,” Mirabal said Saturday. The internal options include Nino Francavilla and SJ Alofaituli. Ryan Rodriguez conceivably could try to get another season of eligibility. Is the freshman Alofaituli ready next year to be a heavy-snap player? “He’s ready now,” Mirabal said.

Not sure if Nino leaving changes things but would think we need to add a Center now to at least be a backup.

Plus almost any OL in America would take a step back losing a top 1 draft pick by definition. That doesn’t mean you go from elite elite to avg

Kinsler rn is the only one that hurts. He would prob start if we can’t add a transfer, but **** he was really progressing in the system. This is why developing a kid from scratch hurts sometimes, all the effort but he won’t stay till completion.

Idk. They seem to want to force HS recruiting and rely less on portal. Whether it be due to preparing for the championship and in the playoffs or just philosophically or what. The portal put us in the championship and got us over the hump and I wish we put more stock in it

I assume Moten is coming back and if not I’m very concerned about DT. I hope SJ pans out because they’re putting stock in it but I’m pretty nervous about it. Didn’t pursue anyone at TE and it was obvious that’s a major drop off and major issue. Also, I assume Toure coming back is done and if not, I’m very concerned at LB.

Eh Kinsler got close to zero burn since he's been here. If he felt he had a real shot to start next season I doubt he bounces.
