It looks like the transfer portal now starts Jan 2 and there will no longer be a spring one.

NCAA removes spring transfer window for football

The NCAA voted to eliminate the spring transfer portal window but did not sign off on establishing Jan. 2-11 as the lone window for FBS and FCS players.

There is no transfer portal as witnessed with Lucas. As long as a kid can enroll and be eligible they can transfer.

I read it as, old way was 30 day portal window after a HC is fired or leaves is now, portal window doesn't open until 5 days after new HC is hired

My assumption is Interim doesn't count?

Interesting...I can't find the answer anywhere. It's not defined, which is very dangerous and opening them up to litigation immediately as the way it reads now, an interim would be included.

But it also looks like the rule was proposed but isn't yet final. It MAY be final later today. NCAA tweeted the below yesterday.
