It had to do with LSU being a log jam.

Murphy is a draft eligible sophomore that needs to play immediately if he wants to get drafted in two years

Congrats to them for sure, but they have 6 OF’s and 3 spots. Sounds like a few will be transferring because college baseball isn’t about developing, it’s about winning

It makes total sense for him. When he first committed to LSU, it made no sense to me.

Why? This was our high school class before Murphy falling right in to Miamis lap because LSU was so loaded in talent

No you don’t ever count guys that didn’t make it to campus and were never coming in the first place

All that matters is who made it to campus. And it’s clearly not good enough for Miami standards

Let me know when Miami is recruiting at these levels

If you will donate several million dollars every year so we can match those school's NIL, I think you would be much happier with our recruiting classes. Put your money where your mouth is.

You are referencing the top 2 classes of the year. Please take a look at how the other classes in the top 10 have faired. Every big team loses big time recruits. Texas with all the money in the world lost 4 of their top 5 recruits.

Here is a direct quote from Baseball America’s writeup, “If Miami can get the rest of its recruits beyond Lombard and Rojas to school, that will be a win for the Hurricanes.” This was before Murphy joined the class.

Recruiting is the least of our problems here.

Already told you all that matters is who makes it to campus. It’s called recruiting as many top players as possible to overcome that problem.

Not having proper depth is a direct reflection on recruiting. Having to throw Jailen Watkins out there against Florida, not having a freshman first baseman ready to play or a proper third baseman to play behind Cuvet. Not having a freshman compete with Vance Sheahan. That’s not even talking about the horrendous pitching.

A new coach would clean out this entire program of coaches, be prepared he wouldn’t save your boy Johnathon Anderson either who is also part of the problem

Throwing good money at bad money doesn’t fix anything when it’s not being spent properly or talent being properly identified in the first place

I’ll let Mario Cristobal spend my money more properly

What does his accolades as a player have anything with his **** poor management and pitching development??

We had an offense that could sleep walk to 6 to 8 runs and we couldn’t win the conference or even win a regional.

Nick Robert literally transferred because he thinks JD sucks.

So you're begging poor for Miami baseball. Awesome.

Of course if we had more rich benefactors, anyone could recruit well. That's not the freaking point. The point is there are plenty of programs either doing more with less, or more with more. By your logic, we probably got outspent by Troy because they were in Omaha.

Also not a good look to be pocket-watching another Canes fan when the critiques are pretty valid about the leadership and direction of this program. Money wouldn't fix a lot of the crap endemic in how JD runs it, and the shortcomings we've had over the past 2 decades compared to other more successful baseball programs.
