Transfer Portal - Baseball 2026-27

Ogden type guy imo. Not a lot of pop but puts the ball in play. Probably our 2nd baseman
 
Jacksonville State head coach Steve Bieser left to Grand Canyon University after leading JSU to the finals of the Hattiesburg regional. That's why we were able to poach two of their better players.
 
King is a nice player but probably not an impact guy. His profile is propped up by line drives falling in for singles.

Even with an extreme .392 BABIP he still only managed a 20% above average offensive profile because there is limited damage.

Ogden light is a good comparison for him and the fact he plays with high IQ is nice.

He was mostly a 3B at Jax, where he was a good defender. Struggles coming on bunts and is average in the pivot on double plays, but sure hands.

At SS he is barely average as he lacks range. Might end up being the 3B next year.

He’s actually got more positional versatility. Just did a tad more research and saw that he played the OF corners as well.

I’m thinking 2nd base here. I don’t think it’s 3rd base being that that’s usually a power position and he’s just a guy yYou can count to give you good ABs and just get on base.

Yes, you can look at the innings he's played each position on Synergy.

He can play lots of positions. The question is which positions does he actually play well. Honestly, it was really only 3B.

That said, I wouldn't have said Ogden is a good SS and he was "fine" there. Which is probably what King would be at SS or 2B. His problem in the middle infield is he isn't good at the double play pivot.
