Transfer Portal - Baseball 2025-26

Your reading comprehension clearly isn’t there because I only talk about baseball. This is a baseball board………. and when it comes to baseball they are nothing more than broke and a joke! But keep deflecting and making excuses

No, you are a next level tard if you believe they are broke reagrding any sport period, you clown.

Prove to me they are not broke? Don't show me what they do in football or softball. What do they do in baseball? I'll wait for you to provide some proof

This guy wrote his theses on how performance in the Cape can help predict if a player from the Cape will make it the Major Leagues, whether they will make it quickly and if they will have a successful career.

Two different things. I 100% agree that performance in the summer is used by scouts for professionals, used by college coaches in selecting who to target in the portal (they're looking at tools).

But I don't give two hoots about a guys draft prospects. I care about college production at the school I root for. In my reviews the correlation is low.

I will say that if given a choice I'd rather a player tear up summer than not, but I avoid extrapolating summer results onto a college season outside of the three variables I mentioned.

If you data to contradict or a study that says otherwise, I'd be interested in reading it. My priors can always change.

To me it's less about the summer results and more about the issues i saw with his swing before the summer results. The summer results appear to confirm the issues i saw when stacked against better comp. His college stats looked really good, until i looked up his team and schedule. He was 5th on his own team in batting average (excludes 2 guys who had 50 or less ABs) against very weak comp. He batted .250 against ACC/SEC teams with 1 great game. Outside that one game, he hit .130 against those teams.

He's a Cane now so i'll be rooting for him to show my just how wrong i was!
Now if you're looking at his process and normalizing his college results I absolutely think your analysis is on the right track to follow that path.

My comment wasn't to defend Sheehan (I haven't done a ton on him yet) but moreso to downplay results from summer baseball.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I much preferred Ty Lichtenberg from App St (Sunbelt Fr of the year). Ended up transferring to Clemson but was ours if we had wanted him. He’s from here in Boca.

It’s not beating a dead horse at all. It’s very sus how they only took one MIF and they rushed in to taking him when they had how many other options on the table! Thats what’s most disappointing to me

When you only take 1 MIF in the portal, you best not miss on it

All we can do is hope Chris Dominguez can work his magic and help this kid at this point.

Anyone who uses "tard" or "retarded" to degrade anyone leads me to believe their shoe size and IQ are identical numbers. Please stop and be better than that.

Don’t think they worried about it because Milano and Magana are coming in and DeGoti is still here. 4 guys competing for 2B. The floor is high there.

Especially when you can probably pencil them in to the 8 hole with what we’ve signed and what is coming back.

Im just hoping whoever takes it over is an upgrade over Dorian Gonzalez

Along the lines of what Lance is saying but in a much more dumbed down way; some guys have no shot at playing pro ball but are stud college players. Gamers, hard workers, and a lot of times they are pretty self aware that this is it so they are going to leave it all out there every day.

Maybe Sheehan ends up being that guy. Wood bats - no shot. Aluminum - we have something. You just never know.

But its nice that if it doesnt work out we arent all in on just him. Frankly I hope a young buck does win it so we get 3 years out of them.

It's pretty retarded to think a dumb person has a 75 shoe size.

Will Dubovik be a two way player or a pitcher only?

What’s his future position in the end?
He will end up back as a position player, but he has no chance to play as a freshman with Cuvet at third

The Thought process from what I’ve heard is the staff think he’s too talented to not have a role as a freshman, so they believe he can contribute as an arm year 1

They won't try him in the outfield or DH?

This kid got out of his commitment from Tennessee and instead enrolling at Wake Forest? He’s a 2025 recruit
