Guys are drafted on potential, yes. Why did we let him walk then? I’m not saying I wouldn’t like to have him, but if he was allegedly asking for a lot, I’m wondering what he has done to warrant that to this point? Potential doesn’t get batters out.

I may not be a scout but I had a handful of D1 offers to pitch coming out of HS and been around a lot of good baseball.

I'm pretty sure Florida has more arms in the majors than we do, and I think FSU, too. We currently have only 3 active players in the Majors. Van Belle got traded to the Reds and is currently in Triple-A

Would be the ace we need, especially if his change up comes along in year 2 like it should. 92-95, nasty breaking ball, solid change up.

Hes got the ace mentality as well.

Yea I mean…. It’s not like JD hasn’t been here in the program as a coach over the last 20+ years.. lol. Over that entire tenure, only one year did we have a pitching staff (his role and “specialty” until Miami Miami’d putting him in the head role) that could compete at the highest levels - of course it was the cancelled Covid year.

Marrero can’t slurp hard enough; all while not knowing ball on top of it. Comical he makes a comment that we will see in 2027. We’ve been seeing for two DECADES!

Let’s hope we could get him,kid should be better with another year of college.do you know if we’re going after the rice pitcher David hickson that will also be a good get
