Ford and Valincius probably end up at Tenn if they dont follow O'Connor. No inside info just a hunch...

I'm sure its been discussed and I have missed it but what is the status of Derek Williams, Galvin, and Ogden going into next year? I know Galvin and Ogden could return pending the draft, assume they would return based on that. Maybe Ogden goes higher than I anticipate.

Saw rumors of Williams having another year due to the juco ruling. That isn't automatic so interesting to watch that process play out assuming he pursues it.

All 3 of those come back, Cuvet, West, Copeland, and hitting on a few nice portal additions and the lineup would look very good. If they're all 3 coming back, I'm tempted to just say only get a catcher out of the portal, let the guys on the roster battle out for 2B, and roll with that lineup and put all resources into the pitching staff.

1. Ogden SS (2B if Magana makes it to campus and is as good as advertised?)
2. Galvin LF
3. Cuvet 3B
4. West 1B
5. Copeland DH/RF
6. Williams DH/RF
7. Catcher?
8. 2B (DeGoti, Ariziega, Magana?)
9. Peralta/Torres CF

Maybe Kulikowski puts it together?

Need a catcher, 2 impact bats and 3 impact arms if you want to compete for a CWS spot.

Feel like Kulikowski is going to leave. Getting no opportunities behind 2 young guys that can't hit. I think he's had a great approach when he's played dating back to Virginia or ND. He's been hitting it hard.

Definitely have to replace Hugus and probably need someone to compete with DeRias and push him.
 
Also, maybe Jackson Cleveland can come back. He had a juco year in 2022 and then went to Lamar for 2 before Miami.

Would be a solid piece to return to the pen, especially after last night's outing looking very sharp.

Wouldn’t blame the kid for leaving
 
Charles Meglio in the portal from Campbell. Went in the portal last year and then committed to South Carolina but something fell through. Average was a bit low this year but 6'4 220. 20+ home runs in his career already. Maybe between him, west and Cuvet you have a bit of a rotating DH. But he did have 15 SB's...maybe he could play some LF.

Ogden/Galvin are 50/50. They are both not in BA Top 500 but can always get taken in top 10 rounds. If they leave, we need to get replacements in the portal as opposed to relying on Freshmen.

Not including needing a weekend starter and a mid week starter. I would also love a legit closer plus 3-4 additional bullpen arms.

Magana won’t be playing short

Galvin has more years as does Cleveland

If they stay im liking that lineup a lot. Hope magana can be a big hitting 2nd baseman.
