2026 Tradarian Ball 4* RB from Texarkana, TX

One of them was No. 2 running back Tradarian Ball, who is committed to Oregon but gave the Hurricanes a look this weekend and watched a 230 yard performance from the Hurricanes' tailbacks.

"I really like how [Matt] Merritt manages his running backs. I know they got that two-headed backfield with [Damien] Martinez and [Mark] Fletcher. Them two good running backs they have right there," Ball said.

"I feel like [Miami] is in good position," Ball added of his interest in Miami. "I like how they recruit, I like what they do. I like Miami a lot. It's a good environment. I just like being out here really." - InsideTheU's Recruit reactions
 


"Really just see what they have before. I came down here once before back in June. I just had to come down and see it for myself in live action," Ball told InsideTheU.

"Since I committed, it's really been slowing down, but Merritt hasn't let that get in the way. He's still recruiting him like I was a day one recruit. That's one thing I like about him–he never gives up," Ball said.

Pretty much any flip candidate that Miami is after says this. Requirement to be on Mario's staff.

RB Tradarian Ball (Texarkana, TX) also had a good visit. While he is committed to Oregon and they remain the favorite, Miami is the top competition right now. The four-star speedster is also a +1 player.​

Miami has been hosting a parade of big-time kids on campus this spring. Here is the latest on some top targets:

- As first reported on the CanesInSight podcast this morning (and later confirmed by on3's Steve Wiltfong), Miami is surging for #1 overall player OT Jackson Cantwell (Nixa, MO). He had a great unofficial visit last week and likes the Coral Gables lifestyle. More importantly, he has strong relationships with Miami's OL staff and believes in their development plan. It will be a battle with Georgia, Oregon and others, but this is a real situation.

This is shades of the Dallas Wilson recruitment. Was supposed to decommit from Oregon and then released a video affirming his commitment after Oregon made it worth his while to do so.
