I just want to see progress and have faith that we will be much better off long term. Tucker and msu hit lightning in a bottle last year using the portal. That was a short term fix and now they suck a year later. I don’t know the exact formula and wish our coaches would do things differently (especially in the red zone) but I prefer a long term solution vs a short term. I’d say high school recruiting as the base of the roster and fill in immediate needs with the portal each year is the way to go. I’m staying patient and optimistic and waiting until 2024 to make my decision on whether or not mario is the right guy.

I’m hoping Mario took a smack of reality the first half of the season. His offensive philosophy has always scared the crap out of me. Having better players in todays football is not enough. There’s a reason Bama made adjustments to how they do things. Offensively and defensively for that matter. Saban was having fits with these spread offenses so he adapted and evolved. He opened up the offense and got more hybrid / situational on d.

Lol dude Butch got facef*** so many times. People wanted to throw him out of town CONSTANTLY. You and I both agree that Butch is one of the greatest things that’s happened to the program in its HISTORY. I’m asking you as politely as possible bc I think you’re knowledgeable as ****, show a smudge of optimism. These guys just came together. This isn’t SC where Riley got his best WR, his heisman worthy QB and 10 other transfers (plus a familiar offensive system to his star QB).

This was wholesale change for a floundering program. A program with players who were coddled by a clown of a HC for years. A defensive coordinator who left a depleted dline (we had to bring in five transfers), nothing at LB, a weak *** secondary.

It does nothing but create negative reinforcement when you, a super knowledgeable and well respected posted slams us every week.

Butch got face f*cked because of the f-ing mess Erickson left him. He face F-ed Bowden and his defending NCs FSU in 2000...then Visor boy in the 2001 Sugar Bowl once things were on an even keel. Every coach UM has ever had, wouldn't have done any better from 95-98....then again, nobody else wanted the job in 95...Most thought UM was all but done with. Only a complete Moron would compare what Butch went through to the present.

I agree I’m not the biggest fan of Gattis so far same goes for Steele. But as time goes on I believe both the defense and offense will be better. Both playbooks are more complex from the past years so it’s gonna take guys some time sucks to be losing bc of it but at this point it is what it is

My man…you don’t think Mario inherited an absolute clusterf^ck of a program that includes G5 players that think they are way better than they believe, players that had zero work ethic (and the ones that did were openly crowned by their own god**** teammates), incompetence from the President/AD down to the athletic department for 20 years, a disloyal and toxic fanbase, a coaching lineage that included a fanboy as HC, a dude barely medically cleared to coach but at best clearly washed, Al f^cking Golden, Radio, etc???

Come on man. Throwing money doesn’t equate to wins - just ask A&M, Texas, etc.

I didn’t expect 2-3 but I also didn’t expect 11-1. Clearly this is going to take 1-2 PROPER recruiting classes and more than one off-season of proper coaching.

…you don’t think this roster is a clusterf^ck?

This team was 2-3 bounces from going 4-8 last season, our best players are transfers. No depth. Dudes with talent that are clearly dog water football players / are still making mistakes that have been engrained by previous coaches. What does that tell you?

The roster isn't all that, but certainly not a Clusterf*ck...this team had NO business losing to MTSU or UNC....even the A&M game. No excuses at all.

Trying my best to be polite and show some decorum. You’re being rude … but I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt, we all have bad days.

My point was that Butch Davis saved this program. We were in a bad place and he accumulated the greatest talent CFB has ever seen. But Butch also had some really, really bad days. He turned it around. He had a plan and he accumulated talent. There’s been a gross mismanagement of this program for years. Mario has inherited a bad situation. While I’m disappointed with how things have transpired, I’m judging the process and not the results yet. As an example, Tyler threw the ball 50+ times for almost 500yds and three TDs. We played with pace and space at times. Even though Gattis isn’t my favorite, we showed evolution. Same can be said for Steele, he gave up six points in a half to an explosive offense. If you don’t want to be positive and see the Forrest through the trees, I get it. It’s your right, but don’t bring other people down with you. The kids and the program deserve better. Butch ain’t walking through that door again, time to move on.

Again with the "Butch had some really, really Bad days" crap, and??....Take 31 schollies, No bowl or TV for a yr....reimbursement of $250,000 (Tony Russell fraudulent Pell Grant fiasco), and 2 murders on campus of an up and coming LBer & his GF...from Mario, and then you'd REALLY see Bad days....I saw from up close what REAL bad days are all about.

Drunk??...Homophobic comments now Huh??...I was with a REAL coaching staff Sat a.m at the Watsco Center, Butch, Kehoe, Sarge,..etc...You know, our best staff ever. Not this highly paid mediocre staff. I listen to them...not you, or anyone else on this site. Everyone was running to them...and pushing through this current staff like they were invisible....as if to say, save us...but by all means, believe the excuses until the cows give milk...I couldn't care less. Now go suck on that D*ck MFer....I need to have a discussion with you about UM FB like I need another hole in my head. I've forgotten more about this program than you'll ever know in your life.
