Toxic Program

At the end of the day people expected a 7-5 team that lost most of its wr production and is down 2 bigtime talents at rb to be undefeated.

Two weeks ago was embarrassing, no way to sugar coat it but this was more of a rebuild than many of us, myself included, wanted to admit.

There are no moral victories, we played better yesterday but still lost a game we should’ve won. I tend to agree with @LuCane its time to empty the bench and let the utes learn on the field a d make their mistakes this year.

I honestly didn't know what to expect this season. Only thing I did expect was to see us stronger/faster/more competent. I expected a staff full of veterans to get the most out of these kids. That ain't happening.

Don’t disagree and many of those guys are the ones that played like that for Manny. It’s time for the young pups to get reps and trial by fire. They may make some mistakes but if I see Ivey running five yards behind a g5 receiver again I’m going to puke or break my tv. Would rather get more reps for Bissainthe and chase smith too.

He was drafted in the 4th round. Was 2nd team all acc. And finished his short but successful career (4 seasons) with 3 FF and 3 ints with a defensive touchdown.

If he was average at best what has every linebacker been since then minus Denzel P?
do we have another LB that made it into the league and played in actual games for a sustained period of time outside of DP?

Heupel yr 1: 7-6
Heupel yr 2: 5-0 & ranked 6th

Imma keep beating home this point until this fan base get it
I think people get that point. what people wont accept is losing to really bad teams and just outright struggling even against weak teams (southern miss first half, entire game vs mtsu, scoring vs a horrific unc d).

heuphal didnt have an MTSU loss at Tennessee (his second HC gig after UCF) (I also will admit that I didnt think heuphal would succeed). his worst loss at Tennessee last year is likely UF

he lost to ACC champ Pitt in game 2, then 11th ranked UF which of course ended up. being bad, lost to 10 win ole miss, Bama, UGA, and Purdue in the bowl. he beat ranked Kentucky and didnt have a disastrous MTSU type loss.

if Mario ends up w that at 7-6 ill be okay. unfortunately he wont bc the coastal is awful and doesn't have anyone close to those teams

Oh for sure, I don’t think anyone is or will defend the MTSU situation, but let’s not act we didn’t have a nuclear meltdown right after A&M. Lol

But if I’m being honest, even some of the best coaches have had some really head scratching losses in yr 1 of a rebuild, either to a really bad P5 team or a hyper motivated G5 team. Regardless, it was despicable & disrespectful for the fans who paid to watch this team. It was a **** poor effort all around.

Yet, I hate to this; even though I penciled it in as a W, watching it in real time & seeing the same bad habits we’ve witnessed for the last 4 yrs, shiiiiid, it didn’t even shock me to the core. I just started laughing after a while, as I saw missed tackles, lack of communication, watching the QB vs. their man, tackling each other, dropped passes, & this lack of energy & synergy.

Mentally soft players
Horrendous fanbase
Mediocre former players like this clown calling for coordinator firings 5 games into their tenures

Mario has his work cut out for him because there are a ton of fundamental issues here beyond Gattis being unable to punch the ball into the endzone from the 2 yard line.

Not true. I'm awesome.

Defense wasn't great, but UNC is a legit top 10-20 offense in the country, and we played well enough to win on that side.

The loss is on the offense, as usual. The UNC defense is completely horrific, and we scored 24 points at home. I don't play the "well this happened against another team" game, but they did give up 40 in a quarter (yes, quarter) to App State. They gave up 45 to ND. They gave up 28 to Georgia State. THEY GAVE UP 24 TO FAMU! So it's not too much to ask to score more than 24 points against a truly terrible defense when you're at home. But as usual, we failed to execute when it mattered most. More yards, more first downs, etc....but another close loss because we completely **** down our leg when we get to the goal line and in short yardage.

Knew we were in trouble when we couldn’t get a push against in the running game that first series.

Yep. Me too. Absolutely correct. We came out and ran straight into a brick wall LMAO. This team (UNC) has gotten flat pushed around by everyone they've played this year. Embarrassingly so. But as usual, we have no one up front worth a ****, and the UNC defense looks like the Steel Curtain. Flat-out embarrassing by the offensive line, Gattis, Mario, Mirabal, everyone involved. UNC of all ******* teams was way more physical than we were on the lines. Pretty sobering.

I not only was at the game...but spoke with Kehoe, Sarge at the Watsco Center Saturday a.m....Love them to death.

Mario keeps showing he’s stubborn with the short yardage. He always goes back to he’s a former OL. He’d rather lose games and leave points off the board to prove a point. We’re five games in and they’re still beating their heads into the wall. Maybe getting stuffed by Unc multiple times wakes him up like MTSU did with how to use TVD. My only fears with this hire are proving to be justified.
