Toxic Program

I give Steele his due. He knew we had Ivey as the only viable CB and still followed CMC to Miami. Come on fellas, that has got to be worth some points of respect.

Just stack the **** talent so that it can compensate for average coaching. Stack and stack and stack. It's one thing to ***** on this board(me) but former players need to chill with going public with all this. No scorched earth strategy is going to entice young players and their families to play at UM.

Cb’s get a lot of heat ( deservingly so) but the safeties stay blowing coverage and missing tackles every game. Way too much freelancing. Sorry bruh but you aren’t Ed Reed. Play your assignments.
Definitely some miscommunication going on in the backfield. I think Kam got benched after that long TD

Edit, based on snap counts, I guess he didn't get benched. Thought Avantae replaced him for a series.

If he has a problem, tell his buddies. Keep your mouth shut on social media as a former player. Does nothing for the good of the program, IDC who he is.
Thank you. And kid was a meathead loser on campus (was there at the same time as him). And to the porster who tried to prop him up by saying 'he made Second Team all ACC in '09' - Darryl Sharpton was second team that year too. I bet we'll see Flagg make one of those teams this year lol.

eh I disagree. we had former players clown manny and all that stuff helps. you think herby got all that insight from the ESPN booth or from a certain former player he works with? as I said, we liked it when they did it to Manny, golden, etc. but now we hate it bc its done to a coach we like. fwiw, he didnt even say fire Mario. he even said he believes in Mario. he just said move on from a coach who no connection to the program that has bene fired for ineptitude before

The ultimate meathead. Still remember him trying to accost a buddy of mine in the Wellness Center parking lot, because we were stuck in traffic leaving a basketball game, and my friend was not going let Colin cut him off. He was all big and bad getting out the car, until he realized that an aluminum baseball bat to the head would directly affect his future.

Steele has been one of the better DC's in CFB the past decade

he also got fired for poor performances at Clemson. I actually dont hate steele and don't blame him fully for the **** we saw outside of the continual coverage busts bc its weekly now and it falls on him. I think we played our best defensive half of the season against a real opponent (ATM was and is so atrocious on offense and they're gonna end up being a 5-6 loss team as I said right after we lost to them).

even with the blown coverage we did a good job vs an elite p5 offense…

Take the bust out and we held them to 20 points, multiple sacks and picks.

Steele did well overall
agreed. didn't have an issue w his coaching esp in the second half. we needed to score in the 30s to win that game coming in. nothing changed from that. you dont hold anyone to under 20 routinely in modern day football.

Watching Tennessee beat LSU yesterday, reminded me of 2 years ago when many CIS comrades thought we were "at least ahead of Tennessee. "
Makes me believe that a lot can be done in a couple of years with the right staff (and them bringing in the right players).
I'm definitely not ready to call for a coordinators head at this time, but Tennessee seems to have turned the corner. Hopefully Mario, Zo, and Rad will absolutely make the right moves for the future of this program. Do I believe it CAN happen? Yeah. Do I believe it WILL happen? 🤔 🤷🏾‍♂️

Heupel yr 1: 7-6
Heupel yr 2: 5-0 & ranked 6th

Imma keep beating home this point until this fan base get it

Calling for a coach to be fired after five games is idiotic. As much as I’ve been down on the OC I’ve never said fire him. Ive been saying for years this fanbase, local coaches and the alums make this as toxic of a situation as you’ll find at any level of sports. You must find a happy medium to kiss the right asses or they’ll turn on you. That’s been my reason why this job is so hard, especially in the social media , microwave era.

Our idiot fans have literally called for Gattis to be fired since game two against Southern Miss.

Heupel in year two at Tennessee and Lane in year three at Ole Miss—going 5-5 year one (2020)—yet our donkey fans point to both of these guys and their respective programs as if they both succeeded year one.
