Total Teardown of the AD

Mark Richt was a very bad hire,

Again, I know why administrators would hate you.

This is what incompetent fandom looks like.

A guy with a .740 winning percentage in the SEC was a bad hire even after winning the Coastal Division for the first time and going 10-0 and reaching #2 in the country.

That was a bad hire because it didn't lead to a national championship.

Rather than blame the fans, why not take a deep breath and ask yourself why the fans saw it before the institution did. The fans were right.

Don't pat yourself on the back, dude.

The fans always want the coach fired.

It's comical that you would claim to have been "right" about that.

I hope you don’t understand hate the way you say you do, but since you are clearly a leftist, I suspect you probably think you do.

You're not even good at hiding your real intentions.

This was the same stuff that engulfed Shalala. The people who were most vociferous in their opposition to her hater her before she even took the job. Once the football program began to sank they were gleeful because they could blame the person that they always hated anyway.

Even if it made no sense to blame her personally.

Do you know the stories about Dennis Erickson's panic attacks and fever blisters that he would get before games? The guy was 63-9 and won two national championships and the negativity was so bad, after one loss, that the head coach had serious health issues.

This isn't just about the last 15 years.

To say so is to prove how clueless you are about this program.
You may be really dumb. You invented a statement, ascribed it to me, then attacked me for believing what you invented. Pretty weak, even if you’re a mediocre attorney.

In any case, I have never said expectations are or even should be comfortable. Big time athletics isn’t comfortable. This is a competitive game. Saban works his tail off because he is driven to win, motivated to avoid failure, and a perfectionist. No one who works for him sleeps well before games, either. If you think we are supposed to have a coach who is happy go lucky, and still wins titles, then you’re ... well, we already know what you are. This just confirms it.

What is clear the past two decades is the poor hiring decisions and program management. The negativity may well have metastasized because of this incompetence. But whatever. Sounds like you feel better by blaming the fans. Okay.

"Incompetent Fandom"

Can't make this **** up

Whatare my ‘real intentions,’ since you’re such a mind reader?

What “good” head coach isn’t 100% bought in? Richt may be respected but bought in he was not. Two totally different things.

Mark Richt donated his own money to build the IPF.

He won more than anybody has since 2004.

He was bought in until he wasn't. His resignation was about the future, not the past.

The fans turned on him because of his putrid offense and his refusal to do something tangible to change it.

And what we have now is the result of that anger.

Satisfied?

This is what unfocused anger and vitriol get you. A panic hire and a worse staff at every single position.

Congratulations.

Not satisfied at all.

The university should have taken advantage of the incredible opportunity that was gift wrapped and presented to them when Richt resigned.

INSTEAD, they made the easy and lazy hire which was Diaz. Not sure why you are blaming the fans on this one because this has the taint of a screwed up and incompetent athletic department/BOT written all over it.

It's shallow and petty to claim that I understand why administrators would hate you?

I do understand.

That's just an observation.
What is shallow and petty is you hating someone for expressing their views on a discussion board. I even take the time to structure my views as logical arguments from time to time. I try not to curse. And you have no history with me, unless you’re some troll poster who just came up with a new name. So for you to hate me, you must be pretty shallow and petty, yes.

I suppose you can claim you just said you ‘understand’ why ‘administrators’ would hate me. But Occam’s razor eviscerates that flimsy distinction.

most likely you’re projecting this hate onto administrators because you’re rustled over this exchange. That’s too bad. I haven’t even called you any curse terms, unlike others in this thread. But i must have hit a sensitive spot.

Maybe you find this funny. I didnt claim anything. i observed a fact, ascribed it to ‘the fans’, and asked what you thought of it. You are so invested in trying to make this personal, you cannot seem to process the words you are responding to.

Then you weren't paying attention.
That is ridiculous. Richt knew what he signed up for. He wanted a low stress gig, hired his son, mailed it in, and then quit when he discovered it wasnt going to be easy. It’s revealing that the admin loved him and is sad he left, because he was their ideal guy for 9-3.

Mark Richt was not incompetent.

It's funny how every coach Miami has had for the last 19 years has been incompetent. The fans whine, the coach is fired/resigns and the next one comes in and the cycle continues.

It seems that Miami fans claim that the coach who doesn't win a championship is automatically incompetent.

Just like every administrator who happens to be there at the wrong time.

And University President.

Crazy.

First you're really coming across as an *** tonight but besides that I could not disagree with this post anymore. No one is asking for national titles. Our fans at this point just expect to win the worst division in college football more than once in 15 years.

Having top 25 recruiting classes every year but struggling to even have winning records is what everyone is and should be upset about.

How much more time should Golden or Shannon been given?
