Total O to Total D

In 2007 we here (while on another website) named the 2007 game against NC State as the "Kirbnobyl game." Kirby Freeman went 1 for 17 in a game where 2 for 17 would have won the game.

This year we finished 93rd in total offense in a year when finishing like 75th would have put us in the ACC championship game and in a New Year's day bowl game. Therein lies the anger and frustration.

We were 53 in total offense in 2007. Statistically I would guess this our worst offense ever.

My reference was to the 07 NC State game specifically. All it would have taken was a second completed pass out of 17 attempts to win that game. This year, all it would have taken was enough offensive production to finish 75th overall and we were New Years Day bowling.

The Offensive Coordinator is NOT responsible for the productivity of the offense.

Blame the players, blame the fans, blame the weather... But you leave those Coaches alone!

We didn't play any world beater defenses outside of LSU and UVA (based on rankings). The offense needs a complete overhaul.

Total D for opponents.
LSU - 31
Toledo - 93
FIU - 58
UNC - 107
FSU - 80
Virginia - 24
BC - 72 (only Holy Cross scored less than Miami)
Duke - 83 (only Northwestern scored less than Miami)
GT - 46 (only Alcorn St and Bowling Green scored less than Miami)
VT - 96
Pitt - 69
This is crazy, numbers don't lie.

Pretty God **** impressive when you consider that our D's average starting field position was at one point close to worst in the nation. O couldn't sustain drives, Feagles couldn't help but duff every punt and the D was constantly defending a short field.

That's unbelievable. It means our offense is probably worse than it's ranking.
