Nebraska commit Tory Pittman III will be on campus on Thursday for spring practice. Tucker offered January of 2025 during Junior Day and he was previously ranked the #1 safety in the 2027 class and highest rated Nebraska recruit ever (still a borderline 5*). X timeline is filled with Nebraska posts.

He previously visited for last year's Junior Day. So there is a long standing interest in the Canes despite the Nebraska commitment.

Two schools in particular are making a push to flip him, reports Rivals’ Greg Smith: Miami and LSU.

The Hurricanes are in Omaha on Thursday for an in-home visit, and also hosted him for a practice earlier this spring — something that hadn’t previously been reported. Nebraska, meanwhile, is still fighting to keep him as one of the centerpieces of their top-15 recruiting class.

Pittman, along with four-star quarterback Trae Taylor, are the pillars of arguably Matt Rhule’s best overall class to date. Taylor himself is being pursued by Ohio State, who has turned up their interest in him recently as well.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder is a top-50 prospect in the country and the nation’s No. 3 safety. He’s also the top-ranked player in the state and their most important recruit outside of Taylor, who is set to move to Omaha this summer for his senior season.

Time will tell whether the Hurricanes or Tigers can get him to campus for an official visit this summer, but the buzz around Miami especially is only growing

Prayers up for the young man if he’s moving to Omaha.

Anyone here ever been to Omaha?
I have. Once.

I’ll never return by choice. It was one of the most depressing places I’ve ever been. Strange. There was literally NO traffic downtown. Felt kinda like Children of the Corn. Drove to the zoo near Rosenblatt Stadium and all I saw was porch after porch of people not working.

How real of a threat are LSU and Miami for Tory Pittman?

LSU and Miami are making runs at Nebraska four-star safety commit Tory Pittman III out of Omaha (Neb.) Millard North. How real is the threat? Let’s discuss.

Pittman visited Miami last month as we reported at the time at Inside Nebraska, his first visit down to Coral Gables. Coming out of his time around Miami’s staff, both sides appear to have real interest in each other. The Hurricanes recently stopped through Omaha (Neb.) Millard North to meet with the four-star, it might not be the last time the two sides connect in person this month. The push from Miami is very real and at this point, it wouldn’t surprise me if the Hurricanes secure an official visit from the No. 3 safety in the country next month.

Now as for LSU, the Tigers stopped through to see the four-star last week. Pittman quietly made a visit down to LSU last offseason, prior to committing to Nebraska. LSU slipped out of contention after that visit, there’s a new staff in place in Baton Rouge but the word coming out of that first visit was the four-star didn’t see himself spending the next 3-4 years in Baton Rouge. Could Lane Kiffin and Co. change that? It’s possible, but at this point Miami appears to be the one true threat to Nebraska in this recruitment.

No I haven’t but I went to Indiana, absolutely nothing there but WALMART.
Everyone looks the same no activity, kids just go down by the creek , drinking and banging girls.

Hospitals are flooded with teenage girls pregnant with there parents having to raise their babies as they get back to banging.

Everyone works at same factory or WALMART there parents work , can’t go to college to expensive.

They get out of high school and that’s it some still can’t read .

Everything evolves around WALMART and some small factories.

I was stuck there twice a month doing a project for Mutual of Omaha. The kimpton downtown was the highlight and it ******* sucked too

it’s a tremendous shocker for kids after the fanfare fun of recruiting is over and you bagged.
Kids fly or drive to there TAM type college, this time it’s quite no fanfare no exciting things happening.
Here’s your room key , class and practice schedule… BOOM REALITY ARRIVES.

No friends no family just four walls and nothing to do but sleep bored out of your mind this gets very old fast.

You start thinking of Miami and everyone you know is home playing football and with family.

PORTAL STARTS COMING ON YOUR PLAY DECREASES.

Homesick then trouble start knocking.
