Torretta/Highsmith

( if ) BJ will be replaced by a similar shill with a more developed resume, & no real intention other than using Miami as a stepping stone to more esteemed opportunities.

Hate to be a Mega Mope, but that’s been the script for the last 40+ years.

As long as the TV checks clear it will be business as usual ( mediocrity ) for the foreseeable future imo.

just hiring a decent AD would do the trick instead of wasting half a mil on a worthless role

There is a LOT of work that needs to be done within our Athletic Department. I have no problems with hiring two passionate and committed guys. Certain posters are getting overly obsessed about Org Charts and Direct Reports...

As long as the GM has the same power as the AD I'm ok with this.
agreed. My only fear would be the hiring of the new coach and staff. We cant just go get ex miami guys. I could care less if there is a single connection to the university. I want the best developer of talent we can get. Its going to take that type of coach who is able to do more with less to turn this around.

Gino is the former player that BJackson referenced wanting the AD job.

He would crush it. Would raise 5x what Blake has. Have Gino add Highsmith as Head of Football Operations or Asst AD of Football Operations.

Time to put together a list of BOT, influential boosters, and important media Twitter handles and let it be known that Frenk/James need to go. Cut the head off this snake and add Hurricane royalty to the Athletic department.

If people want to add handles of people that should be included I will update/add this first post.

Gino Toretta has beens hilling for htis job for almost 10 years.

I remember him being on Lebatard show or one of the local sports tradio show and basically saying he has begged for the job or wants it

Gino Toretta is an interesting name. If there's any truth to this, it might have some interesting implications. I know he strongly wants us in the SEC, for example.

Yeah, but why? If Miami had even a minimally competent head coach, we could have had a cakewalk through the acc coastal and had a good shot at knocking off a flawed Clemson team. Guaranteed playoff spot. In the SEC, we would have to contend with Bama, UGA, UF, soon Texas and Oklahoma, and that's not including a good UF team and some other surprise team that always pops up like Ole Miss this year . Acc needs to sign a better TV deal.

Friday afternoon heard from Zo himself that Gino wants the AD job. Zo also said Ed Reed left the team/position only for us to see him on the sideline last night. So not sure he is a good source lol.
